Adrian Peterson Is ‘Flattered’ By PED Rumors
Adrian Peterson’s PED rumors are “flattering” to the Minnesota Vikings running back.
Speaking to USA Today Sports, the Pro Bowl NFL player says he finds it flattering that people thing he’s taking drug to give him his super fast speed and reaction times.
In his interview, the Vikings player says:
“Seriously. Especially with the amount of work I put in. Guys say that to me, or if I hear someone saying that — it makes me feel good. When you know you don’t do it, and someone’s saying you do, you’re like, ‘Wow. They think I’m on HGH? I’m doing that good? Well, hoo! Thank you, Jesus!’ It’s a compliment. I don’t get mad about it at all.”
Last season, Adrian Peterson nearly broke the NFL single-season rushing record. Peterson racked up 2,0997 yards only a short time after returning from the ACL and MCL injuries he suffered in December 2011.
Peterson reached his yards rushed despite missing the first game of the regular NFL season.
Adrian Peterson says, while he finds the PED rumors flattering, he also recognizes why such rumors are circulating.
“People are trying to get the edge. The reality of it is, people are trying to provide for their families. People are trying to keep their spot on the rosters. If it’s something they can use that’s not going to show up, they’re going to use it.”
So what are his plans for 2013? Peterson says he wants to run for 2,500 yards on his way to NFL history and the record books.
