Katy Perry Unleashes The Artwork For ‘Roar’ [Photo]
Katy Perry is channeling 80s album artwork for the cover of her next single.
For those of us who grew up during the decade, the Firework singer’s cheesy throwback is spot-on. The over-the-shoulder pose and the jacket appear to have traveled through some sort of time warp directly from the depths of 80s excess.
The artwork for Roar, the debut single from the upcoming Katy Perry album Prism, first made its appear on iTunes. Instead of unveiling the image through some sort of media outlet, the singer decided to bring the cover directly to fans who pre-ordered the tune.
Although she has admirers all over the world, Perry is giving her UK fans a chance to check out the artwork first. Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long at all for the cover to make the rounds online.
“Attention UK! Exclusively for you guys, be the first ones to see the Roar artwork now by pre-ordering single,” she posted on Twitter.
Unfortunately for fans of Katy Perry’s anatomy, the singer made the decision to stay completely dressed for the Roar artwork. Since the girl isn’t afraid to flaunt what she’s got, you probably won’t have to wait too long for Perry to release something a bit more risque.
This isn’t the only Twitter tease the singer posted this week. Perry unveiled a short snippet from her upcoming song Roar on Wednesday (August) 7. The promotional machine for her new album appears to be in full swing.
“This one’s for the kittens. It’s time to make those meows,” she wrote in reference to the upbeat tune. You can find the clip embedded below.
Here’s the artwork for the song Roar.
