Vine Community Helps Ryan Gosling Cereal Creator Battle Cancer [Video]
When Vine user Ryan McHenry decided to make Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal Vine videos, it was the most genius thing we’ve seen come out of Vine. For one thing it really emphasized the creativity users can take with the minimalist social app. Since McHenry’s Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal vine videos, unfortunately the aspiring filmmaker has learned that he will have to put his own film Zombie Musical on hold.
It’s been revealed that McHenry has been diagnosed with cancer this week. However, Ryan is getting a bit of sunshine and a lot of support after the horrible news he received. The great thing about these social networks, is it connects us to users from all of the world with shared interests. When the Vine community heard about McHenry’s troubles, they decided to step up and create a video.
In their YouTube video, popular users on Vine got together to support Ryan McHenry to raise money through an Indiegogo campaign titled, “Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cancer.”
Despite the fact that Ryan’s hospital bills will be covered because he lives in the UK, the money raised will go directly to easing his life after his treatments with chemotherapy. These users have decided to ban together to support Ryan, and multiple users have never met the Ryan Gosling Cereal creator outside of the Vine community.
For others, they’re showing their support simply by being present on social media. Many are already starting to tweet the hashtag #WeLoveRyan as a sign of support for Vine user.
