‘Bob’s Burgers’ Getting Its Own Comic Book

The animated sitcom Bob’s Burgers is getting its very own comic book.

Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and Dynamite Entertainment announced Wednesday (July 17) that they are teaming up for a comic book series based around the popular FOX program. The cartoon has been hanging around the network since 2011.

Powered by Home Movies co-creator Loren Bouchard, Bob’s Burgers tells the story of a kooky little family and their quaint little hamburger restaurant in the big city. Although it sounds rather dull on paper, the show is actually one of FOX’s strongest animated offerings.

Dynamite CEO Nick Barrucci said in a statement:

We could not be more pleased to add Bob’s Burgers to the our line of comics. It’s stylish and hilarious, a feel-good concept that can be both heartwarming and mischievous at the same time. When we told our team that we were approaching Fox for the license, everyone lit up at the opportunity. We look forward to working with our partners at Fox to put out a fantastic product that will appeal to readers of all ages.

According to Deadline, fans of Bob’s Burgers can attend the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday (July 19). Members of the cast, as well as creator Loren Bouchard and executive producer Jim Dauterive, will be in attendance for the discussion.

A Bob’s Burger comic book isn’t the only new property headed to Dynamite. Bleeding Cool reports that J. Michael Straczynski has been tapped to pen the upcoming Twilight Zone series.

“I’ve been a fan of the original series since I was tall enough to reach for the TV tuner. So I was profoundly excited when Nick Barrucci came to me with the possibility of doing the new Twilight Zone comic to come out from Dynamite,” Barrucci explained.

Are you a fan of Bob’s Burgers? Do you plan to check out the upcoming comic book?
