Adam Sandler Survives Cheetah Attack: No, This Wasn’t For A Movie [Video]
Actor Adam Sandler survived a cheetah attack in South Africa. Yeah, this was the real thing.
The 46-year-old funnyman was in town filming a new movie called Blended with frequent film gal-pal Drew Barrymore, but was actually attacked on his day off. Sandler’s cheetah attack happened in the midst of a private safari, when he was invited to help feed the animal under the supervision of an animal specialist.
Said cheetah apparently didn’t care for Jack & Jill, and went nuts on Sandler, reportedly becoming aggressive and even jumping on the actor’s back.
Sandler survived to share a short clip of his South Africa experience (read: Crazy-scary cheetah attack) on Late Night With David Letterman Tuesday, explaining:
“They were very nice people at this place (the wildlife park), they let me in with a cheetah … and said I could feed the cheetah water with my hands. So I did it and something went a little bit wrong.”
While the cheetah’s owner intervened to pry the aggressive animal off of Sandler, he managed to stay pretty calm throughout the ordeal, which is likely why he emerged mostly unscathed.
“What happened was they said you’re not supposed to bend down low by the water and that’s why he got mad. … I played it off real good … (but) I was very nervous … I swear to God when he jumped on me all I was gonna do was let him eat me, there was not one part of me that was gonna fight back. I was like, ‘Alright, this is how I’m dying.”
