‘Final Fantasy X’ And ‘X-2’ HD Remaster Features Cross-Save Support

During a presentation yesterday at the Japan Expo in Paris, Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD director Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that you will be able to transfer your saves from both games to and from the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions.

According to a report from RPGSite (via Polygon), the HD remasters will come bundled in one disc on the PlayStation 3. On the PlayStation Vita, however, gamers will have to purchase each version separately. It isn’t known how much the games will cost on either platform.

In fact, Square Enix has said very little about the Final Fantasy X and X-2 remasters. The game was first announced for release in Japan back at the Tokyo Game Show in 2011, and was finally confirmed to be coming to the west earlier this year.

Even though we know that it is coming out in the west, we still don’t know when it’s coming out; Square Enix has so far remained quiet on the matter. The Japanese versions are expected to release at some point this year, but those in other territories may have to wait.

Beyond that, we know little else.

There are, however, some recent reports that suggest Final Fantasy X HD may come with a piece of extra content: an all-new cut-scene.

According to a report from Siliconera, citing information from Japanese publication Shounen Jump, the new cut-scene, which apparently lasts for upwards of 30 minutes, will play during the game’s ending credits.

The cut-scene will feature all-new voice work, and will be written by Kazushige Nojima, the scenario writer for the two games.

Little is known for sure about what the new scene will show, but it’s likely that it will tie in to the story of Final Fantasy X-2 somehow.
