Rush Limbaugh Married 4 Times, Links Gay Marriage To Pedophilia
Rush Limbaugh, married four times himself, has always been a big advocate of “traditional marriage,” but thinks gay people marrying once will lead to acceptance of pedophilia.
While traditional marriage allows for Rush Limbaugh to be married four times, it does not, in his view, seem to encompass same-sex unions, and those marriages will force us to accept child sexual abuse… or so he seems to believe.
The issue of marriage equality has seen a public opinion “tipping point” in the past year, with a hugely high-profile Facebook equality campaign earlier this year gaining widespread support.
As politicians and the public seem to slowly accept the issue of same-sex marriage and equal civil rights for gay Americans, it seems Rush Limbaugh too has at least accepted that if he can marry four times, Adam and Steve can marry once.
On his show in March, despite Rush Limbaugh having married four times, he still managed to work up some heartfelt lamentation for the death of “traditional marriage” in the US when he complained that gay marriage is coming whether he and his harem of wives like it or not:
“The issue is lost… I don’t care what the Supreme Court does. This is inevitable. And it’s inevitable because we lost the language on this.”
Limbaugh was addressing two recent, separate Supreme Court cases involving marriage equality — one challenging California’s controversial Proposition 8, and another challenging the equally disputed federal Defense of Marriage Act.
Limbaugh continued, blaming semantics (and not a more socially progressive, younger base of voters) for the shift.
According to Rush, when the language changed, so too did public opinion on gay marriage:
“As far as I’m concerned, once we started talking about gay marriage, traditional marriage, opposite-sex marriage, same-sex marriage, hetero marriage, we lost. It was over.”
While that may have been progressive for Rush Limbaugh, he still preaches doom and gloom on gay marriage.
Interest in Limbaugh’s four marriages and stance on marriage in general has been popular this week on social media, with many users sharing a story from January in which Limbaugh linked gay marriage and pedophilia:
“There is a movement on to normalize pedophilia, and I guarantee you your reaction to that is probably much the same as your reaction when you first heard about gay marriage. What has happened to gay marriage? It’s become normal — and in fact, with certain people in certain demographics it’s the most important issue in terms of who they vote for. So don’t pooh-pooh. There’s a movement to normalize pedophilia. Don’t pooh-pooh it. The people behind it are serious, and you know the left as well as I do. They glom onto something and they don’t let go.”
Limbaugh also said:
“What is their objective? They want us to all think that pedophilia is just another sexual orientation. You know who’s gonna fall right in line is college kids, just like they have on gay marriage, just like they do on all other revolutionary social issues. Their own definition of the cutting edge, civil rights, freedom, understanding, tolerance. So I’m just warning you here. You think it can’t happen. ‘Impossible! Don’t be nutso and wacko on us, Rush.’ ”
Do you think Rush Limbaugh having married four times (and divorced three) undercuts his position as a pro-marriage moral crusader?
