Sarah Palin: ‘Let Allah Sort Out Syria, Middle East’ [Video]

Just in case you need some catching up on the Middle East (specifically Syria), here’s a primer: The area is pretty much being crushed under the weight of a brutal civil war. But former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin has a unique solution. Since the war is a religious one, why not let Allah sort it out?

Palin’s barbed comments came Saturday during a speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference. Speaking on Syria and American foreign policy, she said: “Where is our commander in chief?”

“We’re talking now more new interventions. I say until we know what we’re doing, until we have a commander in chief who knows what he’s doing, well, let these radical Islamic countries who aren’t even respecting basic human rights, where both sides are slaughtering each other as they scream over an arbitrary red line, ‘Allah Akbar,’ I say until we have someone who knows what they’re doing, I say let Allah sort it out.”

The former Alaskan gov’s criticism was directed at the Obama administration’s decision to arm the Syrian opposition (what could go wrong, right?).

President Barack Obama decided to directly arm the rebels in order to “strengthen their effectiveness” but the type of aid was unspecified, simply called “military” in nature.

Palin continued, labeling Washington DC “one hot mess,” which was met with laughter and applause.
