A look at the Omaha Nighthawks coaching staff
The Omaha Nighthawks have put together a pretty impressive coaching staff, taking talented coaches that have a lot of experience at every level of football. Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski comes to the team after two years as Head Coach at Boston College. It also looks like he will serve as the offensive coordinator. Jeff is an offensive guru who has experience as teh OC with the Green Bay Packers and more recently with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also served as the Offensive Line Coach with the Atlanta Falcons, and began his career with the Packers as their Tight Ends coach.
Defensive Coordinator Rick Lantz got most of coaching experience in NFL Europe. He was the Head Coach of the Berlin Thunder and the Rhien Fire and won a championship there in 2004. Before that Lants worked at the Naval Academy as their defensive coordinator, and the University of Virginia and the University of Louisville.
Special Tam coordinator comes to the UFL after several seasons with Mike Shanahan and the Denver Broncos. There he served as Special Teams coordinator and then as their linebackers coach. He will serve in both capacities for the Nighthawks. He has spent the past two seasons serving as the Special Team coordinator for Texas A&M. He was also on Nick Saban’s staff at LSU for their 2003 National Championship run.
The Coaching staff is rounded out by RB’s coach Wardell Smith, WR’s Coach Roger Hughes, QB Coach Ron Hudson, Offensive Line Coach Pat Ruel, TE’s Coach Vince Marrow, DB’s Coach Joe Trese, and D line coach Carl Hairston.
