Raquel Pomplun Rocks As First Mexican-American Playmate Of The Year [Video]
Raquel Pomplun became Playboy‘s first Mexican-American Playmate of the Year when Hugh Hefner himself awarded her the 2013 title in a luncheon at the Playboy Mansion on Thursday. The sultry 25-year-old from Chula Vista, CA won $100,000 in prize money and a one-year lease on a 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE.
The lady really seemed to like the fire engine red sports car. Pomplun gushed, “Thank you so much, Jaguar USA, for my brand new F TYPE. You made my wild wish a reality.”
She posted a video of the new Jaguar ad campaign to her Facebook page, and Jaguar also added it to You Tube. It’s pretty PG-rated, more car porn than that other kind, so give it a look where I’ve embedded it below if you’re so inclined.
The model, who first appeared in Playboy as the April 2012 cover girl, said in a statement that she couldn’t fully express how happy she was:
“Playboy has taught me a side of myself I didn’t know before. It’s been a year of wonderful surprises!”
Raquel Pomplun will next appear on the cover of the June 2013 issue of Playboy — which is, of course, the official Playmate of the Year issue. It will appear in stores on May 17.
The 87-year-old Hefner introduced the winner with a twinkle in his eyes, noting that she’d become very popular through her personal appearances for Playboy. But he had a warning for guys who might want to get too frisky:
“She’s also appeared as a host on Black Belt TV — so don’t mess around with her!”
She seems to be a woman of many talents. A Chula Vista news station said that she studied biochemistry in Southwestern College — no word on whether she graduated and I’m not about to ask — as well as being classically trained in ballet.
Congratulations to 2013 Playboy Playmate of the Year Raquel Pomplun.
