Jack Brisco Dead At 68
Former wrestling great Jack Brisco has passed away following complications from heart surgery at the age of 68.
Jack Brisco (real name Freddie Joe Brisco) started amateur wrestling in the 1960s, before turn pro at the end of that decade. A gifted wrestler, Brisco won two world heavyweight championships, with titles in 1973 and 74. He also won the multi-time Tag Team Champion with his brother Gerald Brisco.
After a short break in the late 70s, Brisco returned to the ring, wrestling in the WWC in the early 80s. He returned briefly to the NWF before having some early involvement behind the scenes in the then fledgling WWF/ WWE. He left the sport altogether in 1984.
Brisco was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2005.
