Tornado Flips Trucks In Blythe, Near California Arizona Border

A tornado in Blythe, California, near the state border with Arizona flipped trucks this evening, causing damage to houses and major road closures.

The tornado was spotted near the junction of Interstate 10 and Blythe Avenue at around 4pm local time, about 5 miles west of Blythe Airport.

Reports are sketchy but there is said to be severe damage in some areas and widespread power outages. At least three large trucks were blown over as the tornado crossed I-10.

Interstate 10 was closed by Caltrans “until further notice” due to the tornado reports.
