Apple iWork Cloud Environment May Be Getting An Upgrade, Possibly A Whole New Setup

Apple in the last week has issued a job posting according to MacRumors that seeks a new programmer for the companies iWork.com cloud environment, a move that could mean new and exciting upgrades for the sites cloud based work environment.

According to Apples ad:

The Productivity team (i.e. iWork) is seeking an energetic, highly motivated software engineer in building a scalable rich internet application. The person will be part of the core development team and engage in an area from design to development of the software system.

The description also asks that users have experience in JavaScript, browser technologies, scalable rich internet applications, computer graphics and productivity application development.

While the job ad doesn’t specifically talk about upgrades to the companies iWork cloud system, they do want someone to go from “design to development” which would appear to mean a whole new project is about to go underway for the iWork environment.

iWork ’09 is currently free to try in its current beta form, however Apple plans to release a fee-schedule once the beta period draws to an end.
