Marine’s Guns Disabled Before Obama Inaugural Parade: Guns Are Now The Enemy In America

COMMENTARY | Military and Conservative websites exploded in rage today when the news surfaced that the United States Marines marching in last months Inaugural Parade had their weapons disabled prior to the start of the event. Critics of the President believe that Mr. Obama dishonored the Corps and proved that he openly distrusts his own military. Gun rights activitists view the attitude of the President and his supporters as an attack on the Second Amendment. They wonder if guns and their owners are now the enemy in America

This is not the first incident involving a high ranking Obama official and the disarming of US troops. When Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta visited Afghanistan on March 14, 2012, US soldiers were ordered to leave all their weapons outside the tent where Panetta would be speaking. It is important to remember our troops were disarmed in an active war zone at the request of the Obama Administration. The NY Times reported on the incident:

“In a sign of the nervousness surrounding Mr. Panetta’s trip, the Marines and other troops who were waiting in a tent for the Defense Secretary to speak were abruptly asked by their commander to get up, place their weapons — M-16 and M-4 automatic rifles and 9-mm pistols — outside the tent and then return unarmed. The commander, Sgt. Maj. Brandon Hall, told reporters he was acting on orders from superiors.”

“All I know is, I was told to get the weapons out,” he said. Asked why, he replied,“Somebody got itchy, that’s all I’ve got to say. Somebody got itchy; we just adjust.”

Prior to this controversial incident, our troops always maintained possession of their weapons when US officials, including Secretary Panetta, visited. Considering the number of Americans shot by our Afghan allies, we might wonder why Panetta would disarm the very men who would protect him if the need arose. Instead of giving our troops the ability to defend the Secretary, the soldiers would have been forced to use their own bodies to shield Panetta, most likely at the cost of their lives. While our brave soldiers have a long history of heroic sacrifice to save the lives of others, the act of disarming them reeks of paranoia and distrust.

Now you can think what you like about all of this. You can keep the blinders on and continue to believe Obama is the greatest President in the history of the United States. You can join the legions of his supporters, who follow Obama without question, even as their paychecks shrink with the passing of each month.

Or you can join with the 48 percent of the nation who do not support Obama’s Progressive agenda and his constant attempts to divide our nation into racial and social groups. Obama was not elected to represent Latinos or African-Americans or Muslims or Jews or any other group. He was elected to represent the 315 million legal citizens of the United States. We have witnessed four years of class warfare, used to magnificent effect to secure Obama a second term.

No matter which side you are on, have no doubt that there are powerful forces, led by the President, who would much prefer to disarm the entire nation. He has a track record dating back to the beginning of his political career, advocating for a ban on handgun ownership, support for unconstitutional local gun bans, and a fixed limit on gun purchases. Obama is simply lying to the American people when he claims he has always supported the Second Amendment.

Gun control advocates show their ignorance of the Constitution when they babble on about supporting the right of Americans to hunt and participate in target shooting. The Constitution proclaims “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” and it says nothing what so ever about hunting or target shooting. The Constitution of the State of Connecticut makes this clear by stating in Section 15, “Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state.”

Since the tragic events in Aurora, Colorado and Newtown, Connecticut, gun rights in American have been under a massive assault. The Democrats in the Senate are determined to force a bill through the Congress that is designed “To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.” So there we have it, the bill is intended to alter an Amendment to the Constitution without the legality of a Constitutional Convention or a new Amendment.

We can only guess what the “other purposes” might be; we do know that Senator Feinstein, the bill’s author, stated in 1996, that if she had the votes in Congress she would have happily banned gun ownership of any kind forever:

“If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them — Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in — I would have done it.”

We have seen an unprecedented assault on gun ownership in America. Michael Moore claimed Americans own guns “”because too many white people are afraid of black people.” British Fop Piers Morgan demonized Americans as violent savages and insulted anyone who dared to defend the Second Amendment. Chris Rock announced that we should obey the President on everything because “Obama is our boss and the Dad of the nation!”

Vice President Biden promptly inserted his foot in its usual location, his mouth, and told a reporter “Nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to 1,000 a year from what it is now.” After admitting the truth, Biden said we should pass the Assault Weapon Ban anyway.

The President shamelessly trotted out several sweet looking young children to announce his 23 actions on gun control and the gun banners recruited Gabby Giffords, who is still suffering from a noticeable speech defect, to appeal for the assault weapon ban. Nothing is off limits in the full court press to restrict gun ownership in our nation.

The entire push to ban guns, from disarming the troops in Afghanistan to disabling their weapons in a Presidential parade, reeks of contempt and distrust. The use of propaganda, clever advertising, and emotional ads that have no basis in law, fact or reality, illustrates the shameless organized campaign to force an illegal change to our Constitution on the American people.

There is a simple and straight forward process if the American people want to alter our guns rights; its called an amendment to the Constitution. If the gun control fanatics think they have the support to change the Second Amendment by getting two-thirds of the House and two-thirds of the Senate to vote in favor of an Amendment and three-quarters of the 50 State Legislatures to ratify the Amendment, THEN GO FOR IT!

The current attempt by a small handful of powerful politicians to alter the Second Amendment by jamming the Assault Weapon Ban Of 2013 down the throats of the American people borders on Fascism and flies in the face of the principals on which our nation was founded.

Over the last few centuries, we have witnessed one nation after the other descend into chaos and dictatorship, beginning with the disarmament of honest citizens. Is America about to take that dangerous first step on the road to tyranny? The time is at hand for Americans to decide their future. Support the Second Amendment and say “NO” to the Assault Weapon Ban of 2013.
