Boyz II Men In Russia: Vladimir Putin Hopes Group Will Increase Nation’s Fertility Rate

Boyz II Men have quite a task in Russia — getting the whole country to get it on.

Vladimir Putin has reportedly brought Boyz II Men to Russia in a bid to make Russians feel more romantic, leading to a higher birth rate, The Moscow Times reported.

“The stylish trio of Boyz II Men, the most successful R&B group of all time, is coming to Moscow on Feb. 6,” the publication noted. The group will perform a selection of their classic and new romantic ballads, hopefully giving Russian men some inspiration ahead of St. Valentine’s Day.”

In Russia, Boyz II Men will undoubtedly play hits like “I’ll Make Love To You” and “On Bended Knee,” adding some heat to the frigid winter in Russia. Putin hopes that leads to more procreation among the Russian people.

Boyz II Men could help Russia with what Putin has addressed as a national crisis, the New York Post pointed out. The country’s birth rate has sank to about 1.7 children born to each woman.

“The norm in Russia should be three children,” Putin said in a speech urging Russian mothers to procreate at a higher rate.

Boyz II Men said they were excited to play in Russia, where audiences have always been receptive to their smooth R&B.

“Russian audiences have always shown us a lot of love,” group members told the Moscow Times. “It’s amazing for us to see fans across the world who know every lyric to our songs. We really appreciate all the support they have given us over the years.

Vladimir Putin hopes Boyz II Men give Russia some support as well, in the baby department at least.
