Remember the bygone days of yore when a porn-starring past or even racy pics would get you booted off reality TV, a la Frenchie from American Idol ?
No such moral high ground exists in the promotion of show no one’s ever heard of on Bravo, Chef Academy . Well, no one had heard of it until two fellow participants Googled contestant Emmanuel DelCour on camera (first video) and discovered his not-so-hidden past as porn star Jean Val Jean. (Going to Bravo’s Chef Academy page, in fact, brings you right to a video titled Porn Confrontation! , wherein the prospective chefs toast a “possible gang bang,” and the housewife character looks scandalized and DelCour/Val Jean wears a “no comment” shirt. Coy!)
Given the disclosure via the show by Bravo and heavy promotion of the porniness of Emmanuel DelCour/Jean Val Jean, obviously this dude won’t get the boot for a checkered past. Even if he is “the premier straight porn practitioner” of a certain taboo act Oprah got called out for mentioning on her show.
