Dolly Parton Opening A New Themed Dinner Theater [Report]
Destin, FL – Country legend Dolly Parton might be behind a secretive development project in Okaloosa County.
“I cannot disclose the intended use of the property,” Realtor John Paul Somers told The Destin Log. However, “there is some exciting news that will be issued in the next few weeks,” he said.
Until this “exciting news” hits our shore in a few weeks’ time, all we can do is speculate as to what the development project may entail. It’s less “a cool idea Dolly Parton once had” and more of an active project with records showing four parcels of land having been purchased by CF SYN LLC and World Choice Investments LLC in the last year.
World Choice Investments is affiliated with The Dollywood Co., which operates the Dixie Stampede and Pirates Voyage dinner theaters.
According to the Dixie Stampede website, “Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Shows are wonderful programs for all ages. The fabulous four-course feast and great entertainment makes it the most fun place to eat.”
Guests at the Pirate’s Voyage “begin their voyage at the Pirate Village for a fun and interactive experience. They will then ship off to the main arena sectioned into Crimson and Sapphire pirate crew-quarters. As the experience continues, each side will compete to win the treasure of Davey Jones himself.”
NWF Daily reports that there are a lot of technical details that still need to be sorted out, primarily regarding land, taxes, traffic surveys, etc. The details of what the project might be and exactly how it’s tied to Dolly Parton are also a mystery of now, though several hints point to the country legend’s involvement.
Might we be looking at a new dinner theater experience from Dolly Parton? Stay tuned.
