Brandy Engaged To Music Executive Ryan Press

Brandy has gotten engaged to her music executive boyfriend, Ryan Press.

The couple has reportedly been dating for two years, and the singer has been very open about the fact that she wanted to settle down. She told Sister2Sister in August that she was ready to get married if and when Press proposed. She also said people had been hinting to her that he was planning to pop the question, and that it would happen “when it’s the right time.”

Apparently, that time is now. A source told Us Weekly, “They are thrilled and happy and Brandy feels this is so right.”

Shortly afterward, Brandy told the magazine, “He just loves me for who I am. I don’t have to camouflage anything for him or put on a mask.”

While Brandy originally claimed to be married to Robert Smith, the father of her 10-year-old daughter, Sy’rai, she admitted in 2008 that they two were never actually married. She said they pretended to be married after she got pregnant because she felt people would judge her for having a child out of wedlock.

“I lied because of the fear of what people would think and the pressure to be a good role model,” she said.

This has been a big year for the 33-year-old. Her sixth studio album, Two Eleven, debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 200 when it was released on October 12. It also debuted at the top of the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album, which was named after Brandy’s birthday and the date that her friend and mentor Whitney Houston died, has spent nine weeks on the charts so far.
