James Franco Tried To Help Lindsay Lohan

Earlier in the year we reported on news claiming that James Franco was out to make a film about himself and Lindsay Lohan. While those rumors turned out to be somewhat false, there is another connection Franco has with Lohan. While talking to MTV about his REM music video, that features Lohan, he also spoke about trying to reach out to the troubled actress who he hadn’t spoken to in some time.

The 34-year-old told MTV that he had worked on several projects with actors who have tragically died young, one of them was Brad Renfro, who died a few years back of an overdose. Franco then admitted that he had written poems that involved Lindsay Lohan that tied to the reckless behavior that my occur while getting caught up in the industry.

What was most surprising in his talk with MTV about Lohan, was the fact that he tried to help Lindsay before things turned for the worse again:

“I haven’t talked to her in a long time because it seemed like she was getting into some more trouble. I’ve tried to help her. I think one of the reasons it’s so hard is when she gets in trouble, she gets all this attention and I’m sure she gets book offers. Like she goes to jail, and instead of feeling like I really hit a low place, she’ll get a crazy offer for her jail memoir.”
