Justin Bieber Stopped By Police — What Did He Do This Time?
Justin Bieber got into some trouble with the law again.
TMZ reports that the “Sorry” singer was stopped by traffic police in Beverly Hills on Saturday for being on his phone while driving. Safety first, Justin! According to TMZ, Bieber received a citation from the police officer but it’s unclear at the moment whether he was written up for texting or talking while driving.
The good news is that the cops report that Justin was very cooperative with them; apparently, he accepted the fact that he’d been stopped, took his ticket, and went about his business. TMZ reports that the fine for being on the phone while driving in California is just over $150, so paying it shouldn’t be too much of a headache for him.
This isn’t the first time that Justin Bieber has been inked to lawbreaking this year. As TMZ previously reported, he’s been named as a suspect in an assault case stemming from an incident in June 2016. The alleged victim told the authorities that Bieber grabbed his sunglasses, put them on, and took a swipe at him when he took a picture of the pop singer wearing them. He claimed that he tried to settle things out of court with Bieber and his team but they did not want to comply, so he decided to press charges.

Justin’s past issues with law enforcement have been well documented in the press. One of his more serious offenses happened when he was driving as well. On August 29, 2014, he was arrested in his hometown of Stratford, Ontario, for dangerous driving in his all-terrain vehicle. As Yahoo! News reported, Bieber’s ATV collided with a minivan and he reportedly “engaged in a physical altercation” with the minivan’s driver.

“Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of the paparazzi,” Bieber’s lawyer Brian Greenspan said in a statement to The Canadian Press at the time. “This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully co-operated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved.”
He was also arrested for drunk driving, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license by Miami Beach police in January 2014.
