Amber Portwood’s Ex-Fiance Matt Baier Reportedly Skipping ‘Teen Mom OG’ Reunion Filming After Split
Amber Portwood’s ex-fiance will reportedly not be seen during the upcoming Teen Mom OG Season 6B reunion special.
While Matt Baier was one of the most talked-about personalities from the Teen Mom OG Season 6A reunion special, a new report claims the former fiancé of Amber Portwood is refusing to appear during this weekend’s taping after splitting from the longtime reality star earlier this month.
On May 31, Radar Online confirmed the taping was scheduled for this weekend in New York City.
“[Matt Baier] could always change his mind, but as of now, he’s not expected to attend,” the outlet’s source explained.
Another source, who confirmed Amber Portwood and Matt Baier split some time this week, suggested that the reality couple could ultimately reconcile their troubled relationship as they have numerous times in the past.
“They broke up again, but [Amber Portwood] has a hard time saying no to [Matt Baier],” the friend said. “She knows he has nowhere to go if she kicks him out.”
Amber Portwood and Matt Baier met three years ago, and after first connecting with one another online, Baier moved from his home in Massachusetts to be with the Teen Mom OG star in Indiana, where she shares an 8-year-old daughter with former boyfriend, Gary Shirley. A few months later, Portwood and Baier became engaged.
According to Radar Online‘s report, Amber Portwood and Matt Baier called it quits on their years-long relationship earlier this month after Baier allegedly failed a lie detector test. As the outlet explained, rumors swirled regarding possible cheating, and after the reality star allegedly failed the test, Amber Portwood was believed to have dumped him.
A short time later, after patching up their strained relationship, Amber Portwood and Matt Baier met with Vivid Entertainment about releasing a potential sex tape in the future. However, despite the meeting, Portwood reportedly can not get past Baier’s rumored infidelities and alleged lies.
Amber Portwood’s relationship with Matt Baier has been highly criticized in recent years due to the controversy surrounding the number of children Baier has fathered. While Baier reportedly told Portwood that he was a father of two when they first started dating, Radar Online claims the reality star has actually fathered at least nine children with several different women.
In the years since Amber Portwood and Matt Baier’s relationship began, five of Baier’s children’s mothers have reportedly sued him for unpaid child support but ultimately dropped their cases against him.
If Amber Portwood’s fiancé does end up skipping this weekend’s taping of the Teen Mom OG reunion special, that will certainly pose a challenge for producers. As fans will recall, the majority of Portwood’s storyline on the show thus far has included Baier and fans are likely looking forward to seeing what Baier has to say about their relationship and their on-screen drama.
During last year’s taping of the Teen Mom OG Season 6A reunion special, Matt Baier found himself in the midst of some major drama after Farrah Abraham agreed with her boyfriend, Simon Saran, and claimed he looked like a pedophile. After Amber Portwood got word of her co-star’s comment, she quickly stormed the stage and charged Abraham. Shortly thereafter, Abraham’s dad stepped in to defend his daughter while Baier attempted to defend Portwood.
