Mariah Carey’s Age Of Engagement: Is Mariah Engaged To Bryan Tanaka Now?
Mariah Carey’s engagement ring is still big news, and it’s literally not going anywhere. According to Hollywood Life, Mariah’s ring from James Packer is still on her ring finger weeks after the relationship between Carey and Packer blew up. In the first days after the spectacular breakup, fans thought the singer was still wearing the enormous $10 million ring only because she wasn’t ready to give up James.
Now, it’s clear that she and James are so over after their “very public breakup” last October, but the ring is still gleaming and sparkling like a Christmas light on Mariah’s ring finger, and some fans are wondering if that’s because she doesn’t want to give up on romance.
Why take off a perfect engagement ring to replace it with something not quite as perfect?
“Fans are buzzing” over the rumor that a “whirlwind romance” between Carey and her backup dancer Bryan Tanaka has just headed into new territory with an official Christmas declaration of love and an engagement.
It’s only two months since the shocking revelation that Carey’s engagement to Packer was at an end, but Mariah, 46, and Tanaka, 33, have been “heating up over the last several weeks,” according to ET Online.
The outlet also reports that the couple confirmed things are getting super serious between them when they let themselves be photographed “locking lips and frolicking” on a Hawaiian beach recently.
If Mariah is flashing the 35-carat rock on her engagement finger while she’s “looking cozy” with Tanaka, people are going to wonder if she’s just saving Tanaka the cost of a Christmas engagement ring.
An onlooker told ET exactly how things looked between Mariah and Bryan, and it’s not hard to believe that there could be wedding bells in the air.
“Mariah’s chemistry with Bryan was subtle, but undeniable. It is the way they communicate. They seem so happy in each other’s presence. They are on the same page — their laughing and the glances between them.”
According to Us Weekly, there are other signs that this could be the real thing. Mariah and Bryan are showing off some hot PDA on Carey’s reality show, Mariah’s World, and the “simmering romantic tension” between the singer and dancer is totally obvious to everyone on-set.
On top of that, almost all the footage of James has been replaced with scenes “featuring Carey flirting with Tanaka.” Most of the new footage came from the “cutting room floor” and was never intended to be part of the show.
The scenes were just part of Carey’s everyday life during filming, but cameras caught a lot of the developing romance between Carey and Tanaka.
Tanaka was eager to share how he feels about Carey when he was asked about their relationship at the premiere of the show.
“I’ve always had a thing for Mariah. I love her so much.”

Of course, it could be that the diva is wearing the jewelry because it’s custom made for her by a “close friend of more than 25 years,” Wilfredo Rosada.
People reminds Carey watchers that the engagement ring was also made to her “exacting standards,” and it’s bigger than both Kim Kardashian and Beyonce’s engagement rings put together. All of that to say the engagement bling is special to Mariah and even the bad memories of her relationship with Packer won’t make her take it off.
