Niall Horan Says He Won’t Fight Justin Bieber To Get Selena Gomez Back

Niall Horan got candid about his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez and her former beau Justin Bieber in a new video, according to Hollywood Life. Ever since the 23-year-old One Direction singer and Gomez reunited at November’s AMAs, fans couldn’t stop speculating about the once very cute couple rekindling their romance.

So Niall Horan had to finally address the rumors. In a new video with Wild 949, Horan gushed about Selena Gomez’s looks and said she’s “very beautiful.” But the One Direction singer got more candid in his recent interview with Los Angeles 102.7 KIIS-FM radio’s host Ryan Seacrest. Horan even didn’t shy away from talking about fighting Justin Bieber to get Selena Gomez back!

When Seacrest asked Niall Horan if he would be willing to fight Bieber, who, as the host suggests, is still in love with Gomez, the One Direction singer laughed.

Although the video cuts out, it sounds like Horan said, “I’m friends with him [Justin Bieber], so…”

It’s unclear if Niall Horan actually added anything after that “so” as the video cuts out, but his response still suggests that he values his friendship with the “Sorry” singer more than a possible romance with Gomez.

In addition to that, it doesn’t look as if Niall Horan will have to fight Bieber for Gomez, because the “What Do You Mean?” singer seems to be rekindling his romance with model Hailey Baldwin. But Seacrest didn’t give up so easily, and after Horan’s revelations that he doesn’t have a girlfriend, the host suggested the One Direction singer “should rekindle with Selena” simply because he “likes” her!

But Niall Horan seems to have dodged the question and asked Seacrest to “sort it out.” It seems that the One Direction singer is still heartbroken after his split from Gomez, as he admitted he “prefers” to be single.

Niall Horan also revealed that it’s been “about a year” since his last serious relationship. A source cited by Hollywood Life revealed that Selena Gomez was “flattered” by what her former beau said during the interview with Seacrest but admitted that she can’t be in a relationship now.

The source explained that Gomez is still going through recovery from anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, and part of her recovery “involves no serious relationships.” In 2015, Niall Horan’s former girlfriend admitted to battling with lupus, and earlier this year, she announced her intention to take a break from music because anxiety and depression are side effects of lupus.

“In fact, for the time being she’s been advised not to date. Plus, dating is pretty much the last thing on her mind now. She is focused on herself and spending time with close friends.”

Since dating Selena Gomez and showering her with gifts is not in the cards for Niall Horan anytime soon, the singer should probably focus on getting One Direction back together. In fact, during his November interview with Sunday People, the singer promised that the boy band would “definitely” be back, according to Billboard.

One Direction announced their “extended hiatus” earlier this year and never said when that hiatus would end. But at least there are guarantees from Niall Horan that the boys will be back, as the singer says they would be “silly” not to come back.

In November, Niall Horan said during a Los Angeles red carpet event that One Direction members – Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson – are “enjoying” doing their own “thing.”

“At the moment we are all doing our own thing. Harry wanted to do his movie and everyone is just chilling… I don’t think anyone needs to worry about us, we are fine.”

Niall Horan has been focused on his solo career and recently released his debut solo single “This Town.”
