Lena Dunham Posts Selfie While On Toilet, Promptly Deletes It And Blames The ‘World We Live In’

Controversial actress Lena Dunham is once again making headlines over a social media post. However, this time it’s over the fact she deleted the image after receiving criticism.

The 30-year-old posted a selfie while sitting on the toilet — a screenshot can be seen here — with the caption “model citizen.” After deleting said photo, Dunham posted yet another toilet-related image. But this time it was of her “influence,” Jenny McCarthy sitting on a toilet in a Candie’s ad. Dunham captioned the photo with an explanation as to why she deleted her own image.

“When you delete your own peeing Insta cuz you chronically forget what kind of world we live in but you still gotta shout out your visual influences.”

It seems the ridicule she faced for posting the vulgar image was too much to bear and resulted in her removing it altogether.

Commenters took to Instagram to express their own opinions of Dunham’s since-deleted toilet photo. Many question why the Girls actress thought fans would actually want to see a photo of her urinating in the first place.

“why the f**k would anyone want to see you sitting on the toilet!”

While other fans calmly told Lena to act a bit more classy in the future.

“Just have a little more class babe.”

Yet others stated the obvious when it comes to toilet selfies and the kind of world we live in — one where we don’t enjoy seeing people using the bathroom.

“What kind of world we live in? You mean the one where people don’t want to see photos of someone literally taking a piss?”

While fans and non-fans alike had plenty to say on the matter, some questioned Dunham’s intentions entirely. Commenters stated Lena had posted the picture knowing what kind of response it would get, only to post yet another photo announcing she deleted the selfie in order to complain about society.

“If you people couldn’t see her putting up a pic of her peeing, then deleting it? Just to get attention and b**ch about how society is f**ked up?”

They went on to tell Lena to stop looking for attention. It seems the controversial actress always finds herself in a bit of drama whether she’s looking for it or not. Recently, Dunham made headlines when she claimed Odell Beckham Jr. disrespected her while at the Met Gala. Huffington Post reported Lena told Amy Schumer during an interview that the football player decided she was not attractive and would not speak to her despite being seated at the same table during the gala.

“It was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards.”

Dunham faced serious negative backlash over her comments and issued an apology via Twitter. While she blamed her own insecurities for the comment, this latest toilet fiasco may stem from something else. Lena has been publicly upset since Donald Trump won the presidential election, even posting drunken videos on social media where she can be heard referring to herself as a “human wastebasket” after consuming a glass of wine.

In a positive light, Dunham is being applauded for how she responded to a comment asking if she’s pregnant (she’s not) on an image she posted on Instagram. Her witty response made headlines as fans laughed along with her.

“Thank you! I’m not expecting but I did enjoy a large box of gluten free crackers prior to taking this image.”

However, it doesn’t seem as if fans are laughing following Dunham’s more recent post. Maybe she was attempting to be witty yet again but fell a little short of hitting that mark with her toilet humor.
