Beyonce’s 1992 2.5-Hour Video At Age 10 May Fetch $3.8 Million In Ted Owens Auction, Via Beyonce’s Bank Account Or Crowdfunding [Video]

Before Destiny’s Child, Beyonce’s musical group was named Girls Tyme, and two and a half hours of raw, unedited footage of Beyonce’s Girls Tyme group preparing for their first music video could bring in as much as $3 million. Filmed in 1992, the below snippet is from video footage that was believed was lost for 20 years. However, the first music video and the rare images and candid view of Beyonce as she develops her craft as a 10-year-old in 1992 have been found.

The footage being auctioned off is called “The Beyonce Video Collection- Circa 1992,” according to the Ted Owen & Co. website. With what’s believed to be Beyonce’s real and gorgeous hair, 1990s colorful neon style of clothing, and Beyonce’s voice as she speaks directly to the camera, the videos should be a fascinating watch for Beyonce’s fans.

The firm explains what the rare videos of Beyonce contain.

“Ted Owen & Co. are proud to be offering a unique collection of 12 original professionally produced Betacam video tapes of Beyoncé Knowles. The collection of tapes document the earliest music video appearance of Girls Tyme showcasing and starring a then 10-year-old Beyoncé Knowles.”

“The collection, dating from 1992, consists of approximately two and half hours of footage depicting Beyoncé playing to camera in several locations, working out dance routines, rehearsing for a live performance in addition to performing at an artists showcase in San Francisco. There is additional unedited footage of Beyoncé at the Record Plant recording studios in Sausalito California, working on dance routines for what was intended to be her first professionally recorded music video.”

“This recently unearthed and never seen original footage offers the viewer a candid insight into a 10 year old Beyoncé developing her craft that would ultimately make her the world’s biggest pop stars. This is a unique opportunity to acquire rare and original archival footage and witness the beginning of what we know to be Beyoncé’s incredible journey to superstardom.”

Bidding for the collection of Beyonce footage closes on January 10, 2017, and the video could fetch a pretty penny for the owner.

In the video, Beyonce already has the makings of a superstar with a gleam in her eye and a sensuality displayed well beyond her 10 years of age. Beyonce’s dancing skills are also displayed in the videos.

Whereas videos of “Queen Bey” seem to be treasure troves already on social media, Beyonce’s never-before-seen footage, as reported by BET, should make the “BeyHive fandom” even happier. Anyone who invests in the up to $3.8 million footage could likely make that money back tenfold by creating a movie or documentary out of the footage.

The 10-year-old Beyonce who performed in the video, as reported by Yahoo Music, was getting ready to become the 12-year-old Beyonce in 1993 who performed on Star Search. Although she lost that show with Girls Tyme, Beyonce ended up winning big in the end; as might whosoever buys the video footage.

Whereas the rare footage proves Beyonce’s path to stardom was destined, as reported by MTV, it also could mean that Beyonce herself might not want others to view the young entertainer “developing her craft that would ultimately make her the most famous pop star in the world.” Or, Beyonce might want to purchase the footage herself and make her own profit from it after editing the footage as Beyonce sees fit. Therefore, whether Beyonce might shell out close to $4 million to buy the videos remains to be seen.

Or, maybe the “BeyHive” might raise enough funds to buy it.

One interesting crowdfunding theory floated for buying the Beyonce videos, as reported by Marie Claire, involved everyone chipping in to buy the Beyonce footage. That way, the whole world could potentially see Beyonce’s younger days with former Destiny’s Child member LaTavia Roberson and others in the video footage.
