CNN/RCN Boston Didn’t Air 30-Minute Transgender Riley Quinn’s Explicit Video: ‘Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown’ Jokes Abound [Hoax]

CNN is getting plenty of buzz on Black Friday, but not for reasons that the network is likely proud of making news about. On Thanksgiving Day at 11 p.m. ET, CNN accidentally replaced their new episode of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown with an explicit transgender video starring Riley Quinn, an adult entertainment actor likely getting loads of attention on Black Friday .

Update : RCN has responded via their Facebook page — saying that only a single user claimed porn was aired, and Snopes has called her claims false.

According to the Next Web , the fact that CNN replaced Bourdain’s show with Quinn’s explicit video only had an effect on CNN viewers in Boston — with the 30-minute explicit video not being aired nationwide. Yet and still, the full 30 minutes of Riley’s explicit video made enough of an impression for folks to begin sharing the snafu far and wide on Black Friday.

In Boston, CNN ‘s programming is provided by RCN , the local television provider for that city. CNN reportedly gave the correct programming of Bourdain’s show to the local provider — but that did not stop the incorrect video signal from making it onto the air for a full 30 minutes.

According to CNN , Bourdain’s show normally airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Viewers who tuned into CNN on Thanksgiving Day, expecting to see Anthony travel around the world to let them know about the latest cultures and food he has uncovered, instead saw an eyeful of explicit video instead of the travel show.

Some people who were watching the mix-up turned to social media to report the mistake. One such person was Twitter user @solikearose, who wrote that she couldn’t wait until the RCN folks awakened the day after Thanksgiving Day to realize that folks would be talking about the explicit video mistake on Black Friday.

For their part, RCN responded that they didn’t have any complaints about what Rose mentioned in her above tweet — but other Twitter users began posting blurred-out pics and screenshots of the explicit Riley video to show the programmer what they meant.

On Black Friday, November 25, RCN asked the Twitter user for her address so that they could troubleshoot the issue.

No doubt, RCN has awakened from a Thanksgiving Day stupor to try and figure out how explicit video was displayed via their venue.

The fact that explicit video played for a full 30 minutes without being noticed by the higher-ups is likely causing lots of consternation for those who did not want to see Quinn’s explicit video instead of Bourdain’s show.

According to the trend graph on Trendolizer , the article titled “CNN accidentally airs 30 minutes of non-stop” explicit video by Independent.co.uk has gone viral, getting shared more than 3,500 times online.

The fact that a local cable TV provider — who hails from New Jersey — would make such a big mistake by airing Riley’s video might be an attention-getter for Quinn in some ways, but an opportunity for CNN to issue a mea culpa to the viewers who were offended by the video.
