Conor McGregor’s Girlfriend Dee Devlin Is Pregnant, The Notorious Makes Big Demands After UFC 205
Fighting Irish sensation Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez with a brutal second round knockdown. The Notorious also announced that his long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin is pregnant with his child.
MMA journalist Ariel Helwani reported that Conor McGregor’s announcement was personal about a month ago. The UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion confirmed the rumor that his girlfriend or possible wife – Dee Devlin is pregnant.
“I’m going to be a daddy early next year,” the McGregor revealed to a crowd of cheers during the UFC 205 post-fight press conference. “I’m crapping my jocks, it’s messing with my head.”
Conor also stated that he is not a fan of celebrity culture and will be taking some time off. The UFC star said that the new owners have not spoken to him and the ambitious Irishman demanded that the UFC give him some equity in the company.
The Notorious suggested that he will not fight unless the UFC give him a significant increase in pay. McGregor said in the press conference that he knows his worth in the video below.
“They’ve got to come talk to me now,” McGregor said. “Both belts. Money. I want the ownership now. If we’re going to keep doing this, let’s talk, but I want an equal share. I want what I’ve deserved, what I’ve earned.”
It was reported that Mayweather offered Conor $50 million for a boxing fight. McGregor is estimated to be making about $10 million per fight with PPV cut included. The two-division champion believes there is more money on the table.
“If you want to come at me, if you want me to stick around and help service that debt and continue to push the company, bring me on board, for real,” McGregor said. “I need to be set for life for this. If you want me to be truly on on board, then I need to be all-in on this proper, as an owner, and have an equity stake in the company. That’s what I’m looking for,” Conor said during the UFC 205 press conference.
Conor McGregor is the first UFC fighter to hold two belts simultaneously. UFC legend BJ Penn attempted the feat against George St Pierre at UFC 94 but the former Welterweight champion dominated the fight.
Conor McGregor has not revealed the gender of his unborn baby but the champion is already getting excited about being a father. It is unclear how much time off Conor McGregor plans on taking now that he is the champion of two weight divisions.
The current division Conor conquered last night has two dangerous competitors undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson waiting for a shot at the champion.
Dee Devlin is expected to give birth early next year; therefore, the next Conor McGregor fight may come around June, 2017, or the active champion may take even more time off.
Dana White has suggested that he won’t budge on stripping Conor of his featherweight belt. The UFC President stated that he wants Conor to enjoy the night and did not reveal his immediate plans.
UFC 205 was a monumental event per MMA Fighting, Dana White reveals that the event was the most successful in the company’s history.
“Sitting here tonight we broke every record in UFC history tonight,” he said in the post-fight press conference. “Every record. The only one I’m waiting on now is the FOX number, how did FOX Sports 1 do. It would be really, really weird and make no sense if we didn’t break that one too.”
It is unlikely that Conor McGregor will take much time off. It appears the two-division champion is playing his hand to get a larger share of PPV revenue in future fights. Conor has cemented himself as not only one of the best fighter in MMA but also the UFC’s biggest star.
