‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Norman Reedus Reveals What’s In Store For The Rest Of Season 7
The Walking Dead Season 7 has been dark and weird so far. Fans watched as the season premiere was one of the most shocking, brutal, and bloody episodes in the show’s history. However, since then, the show has taken an interesting turn.
The second episode featured Carol and Morgan in the Kingdom and introduced some colorful new characters such as King Ezekiel. Meanwhile, the third episode was set solely in Negan’s Sanctuary and revolved around Negan, Dwight, and Daryl. Now, fans are wondering what’s in store for the rest of this roller-coaster season?
According to Comic Book, Norman Reedus, who plays fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, says that Season 7 is the most emotional season yet. While the episodes have all be extremely different, there is so much more to come for Daryl, Rick, Michonne, Maggie, Carl, and the rest of the gang.
It seems that instead of our favorite characters struggling to survive and fight off herds of walkers, they’ll be struggling with their humanity instead. Walking Dead fans can expect to see each character wage an inner battle about what their future holds, and Reedus says that fans can expect a lot of substance and also reveals in order to be a hero, that character must first fall before he’s able to rise up.
“You know, it’s an emotional season. It’s a different season for us. There’s a lot of heart in this season, and when and if it ever turns back around, it’ll be super large. It’ll be very powerful. [Andrew Lincoln] and I joke all the time, remember when we were, like, bad a– on this show and we were like…and it’s different, you know? It’s harder for us. We’re not winning right now, but if you have a hero, he has to go all the way to the bottom before he can rise back up again, and hopefully, there’s light at the end of that tunnel, and that’s pretty much what this season’s about for everyone.”
It would seem that The Walking Dead will spend the majority of Season 7 building toward the “light at the end of that tunnel,” as characters struggle with their grief, anger, and feelings of general helplessness. While some viewers have expressed dislike for the turn the series is taking, it does seem that there is a plan in store and that the end result will be worth it if fans just stick it out through the dark and sometimes tedious storylines.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Walking Dead viewers are a bit worried about the direction Norman Reedus’ character may take. Daryl is being held prisoner by Negan at the Sanctuary, and some fans believe that Daryl will have to either fall in line and work for Negan or he’ll be killed off. However, if Daryl did become one of Negan’s Saviors, it would be a great way for him to gather information about the survivor group, find out Negan’s weaknesses, and explore the Sanctuary. All of this could be extremely helpful if Daryl were ever to reunite with Rick and company and plan a strategy to take Negan down. Perhaps Rick’s group will even join forces with the Kingdom and the people from the Hilltop in order to make sure Negan’s reign of terror is over. Can the survivors stop Negan for good, or will he be a long-lasting villain for the series?
What are your thoughts on The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers? Do you think Daryl Dixon will join the Saviors now that he’s Negan’s prisoner?
