Annie Le: Runaway bride or kidnap victim?

Five days before her wedding, Annie Le vanished in New Haven, CT, leaving behind her purse, credit cards, money and phone.

Le and fiance Jonathan Widawsky, graduate students at Yale and Columbia respectively, are scheduled to be married this weekend in New York. But Le has not been seen since Tuesday, when she checked into the library at Yale using a key card. She was reported missing by her roommate after failing to return home that day.

After the much publicized case of Jennifer Wilbanks, who fled her impending nuptuals and later falsified a kidnapping, there is speculation that Le may have also absconded to avoid a wedding. But at just 4’11’ at a mere 90 lbs., the prospect of Le having been abducted is a frightening possibility as well. Police are currently reviewing security footage for clues, but as of now, Le has neither been seen nor heard from since September 8th.
