Biggest Supermoon In Nearly 70 Years On November 14 Will Bring Jesus’ Second Coming: Doomsday Prophets Spread End-Of-The-World Hysteria Online
Self-proclaimed prophets are causing a stir with predictions that the biggest supermoon in nearly 70 years, and the closest thus far in the 21st century, will bring the second coming of Jesus. The supermoon is due to appear in the skies on Monday, November 14, 2016,
Thousands of susceptible believers have been told to prepare for the end of the world because the next supermoon is a rare event with special significance in biblical prophecy.
The latest round of biblical doomsday fear-mongering comes after the Inquisitr reported in September that conspiracy theorists cited a scientific study titled “Moon’s pull can trigger big earthquakes,” published recently in the prestigious journal Nature, to back conspiracy theory claims that the next full supermoon on November 14 could trigger a global cataclysm by generating powerful tidal forces that cause devastating tidal waves and catastrophic mega earthquakes.

But now conspiracy theorists have added Armageddon and the second coming of Jesus to the growing list of woes that will befall Earth due to the next full supermoon.
A supermoon is a new or full moon that occurs at the Moon’s closest approach (known as a perigee) to Earth.
According to astronomers, the next full supermoon on November 14 will be the largest and brightest since January 26, 1948, and a full moon will not come closer to Earth until November 25, 2034.
The supermoon will appear to be 14 percent larger in diameter and 30 percent brighter than an ordinary moon.
“A full moon at perigee is about 14 percent larger than a full moon at its farthest point (apogee). It also shines about 30 percent brighter.”
According to doomsday prophets, the next supermoon is a special prophetic portent because it is a rare astronomical event. Doomsday prophets note that the last time the Moon approached the Earth so closely on its elliptical orbit was in 1948 — more than 68 years ago — when Israel was re-established as the world’s only independent Jewish nation.
The next supermoon, being the closest supermoon since 1948, is a special sign concerning the restoration of Israel promised in the prophetic scriptures. The signs are allegedly intended to warn the world that the second coming of Jesus is imminent, according to doomsday prophets.
Israel has a special significance in the biblical prophetic timetable, according to doomsday prophets. This means that something very special and earth-shaking will occur about 70 years after the 1948 supermoon.
The number seven is a special number in biblical prophecy because it is a symbol of spiritual perfection linked with the Jewish seventh-day Sabbath rest, according to doomsday prophets. Seventy years also recalls the seven decades of the Babylonian captivity prophesied by the Prophet Jeremiah.
Some believers claimed on Facebook that another special sign that the second coming of Jesus is near is the recent excavation of the Tomb of Christ.
According to the New York Times, in October 2016, a team of specialists opened the crypt in Jerusalem’s Old City believed to be Jesus’ tomb for the first time (see video below).
“The largest supermoon in decades, and the same month that the tomb of Jesus Christ is unearthed,” a believer commented on Facebook, according to Express. “[This guarantees] that something big is about to go down.”
“With all the craziness going on consider this. There’s going to be the closest super moon since 1948. The moon is a type of Jesus as it reflects the light of the sun (type of the Father),” reads an update posted to the Facebook page of the religious group, the Kingdom League International.
“Does anyone remember what occurred in 1948? How about Israel became a nation? This is going to be a significant year for the cause of Christ.”
According to the website of the Kingdom League International, the supermoon on November 14, when the Earth’s natural satellite is closest to Earth, is a sign of Jesus’ coming because the Moon is a “type of Jesus the Son for He reflects the image of His Father as the moon reflects the light of the sun.”
The belief among some Christian groups that astronomical events associated with the moon are divine portents is derived from several biblical passages, such as Luke 21:25-26.
“And there shall be signs [in the last days] in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity… “
However, doomsday prophets and their followers ignore repeated efforts by NASA to calm fears that astronomical events are a sign of the end of the world.
Commenting on the mass hysteria caused by doomsday prophets who claimed that the world would end on December 12, 2012, NASA said, “Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no [ imminent apocalyptic] threat.”
Scientists also said that the next supermoon would not trigger the end of the world.
