Stevie Nicks Doesn’t Like How Nicki Minaj Talks To Mariah, Says She’d Have Killed Her Right There
Singer, songwriter, and all-around music legend Stevie Nicks has emerged from pop culture obscurity to sound off on the American Idol feud between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
Whether the feud is fiction drummed up and peddled out by American Idol producers to boost flagging ratings doesn’t seem to matter to Nicks, notes Gawker. Though she was a contestant coach on the show last year, Nicks says that she’s glad to not be involved with the newly-minted judges panel this year, because she wouldn’t be able to tolerate Minaj’s disrespectful outbursts against Mariah.
Sounding off on the supposed Idol feud, Nicks said:
“How dare this little girl! … If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there.”
In case that wasn’t clear, she clarified:
“I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it.”
Yikes! So we know where Fleetwood Mac stands on the Mariah Carey/Nicki Minaj feud.
According to The Daily, Nicks also said that if she and Lindsey Buckingham were just getting started, they would “absolutely” go on American Idol, The X Factor, or The Voice.
“That’s how you get seen these days,” she explained. But, Nicks jokes, “I would have had to drag [Lindsey] kicking and screaming. He probably would have given them the finger.”
Would Nicks ever be interested in a judge’s spot herself? Probably not.
“If you stick me in the middle of a burning fire,” she says, “I don’t think I’d like it very much.”
Do you like Stevie Nicks? Do you think that Mariah Carey should have strangled Nicki Minaj to death over her outburst, as Stevie suggested? Sound off!
