Melanie Lynskey has filed for divorce from husband Jimmi Simpson; the couple have been married for five years.
Lynskey and Simpson wed in her native New Zealand in 2007 after meeting in 2001 on the set of the Stephen King miniseries Rose Red.
Lynskey is best known for her role on Two and a Half Men while husband Jimmi is a star on the long-running series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia .
It was Melanie who filed for divorce on September 25 using the always popular “irreconcilable differences” for her Los Angeles County Superior Court filing.
The Hollywood couple have been separated since April 9 according to the court filing.
In the meantime, Lynskey has been busy, appearing in The Perks of Being A Wallflower alongside Emma Watson and the Sundance hit Hello, I Must Be Going.
In the latter, the actress raised the eyebrows of views as she performed a naked rendition of the Canadian National Anthem . Speaking of her performance in the acclaimed movie, Lynskey revealed:
“I’m a character actress, and I’m very grateful for all that I’ve gotten to do. But this was just something that was so fully realized, a complete journey that this person makes. It felt like such a gift … It was a really nice feeling.”
Hello, I Must Be Going doesn’t have a wide release date at this time, but we’re willing to bet it will be a nice distraction for the actress given her personal situation at the time.
Will you be going to see Hello, I Must Be Going when it finally arrives in theaters?
