WWE News: WWE Still Very High On Bray Wyatt, Planning Huge Match For Him At ‘Wrestlemania 33’
A lot of people would argue that Bray Wyatt is one of the most underutilized WWE Superstars in recent memory. Wyatt’s skills on the microphone and in-ring psychology have earned him some big feuds that have lead to huge matches over the first few years of his career in WWE. He’s been very successful thus far.
The issue that most people have with Bray Wyatt’s booking is he’s able to get into important matches due to his talent, but WWE doesn’t reward him with many big match victories. At least, they haven’t so far. In the first three years of his WWE career, Bray has been to three Wrestlemanias. He’s faced John Cena and The Undertaker and confronted The Rock in front of the largest crowd the wrestling industry has ever seen.
Despite all that success on WWE’s grandest stage of them all, he’s never held a singles title. In fact, Wyatt has never even had a singles title shot for any championship in WWE. Not only that, but he’s continuously been booked to lose a massive number of his matches, which has stalled his momentum from ever reaching a point of superstardom. The WWE fans have been watching, and they’ve taken notice to Wyatt’s treatment.
Bray Wyatt has acknowledged that his character on WWE programming is a little different, so it can be understood why WWE officials may be hesitant to push him to the top of the WWE ladder considering the marketability of the character may not be something fit for Good Morning America. However, WWE is still very high on Wyatt’s talent, and there are big plans for him headed into Wrestlemania 33 next year.
If The Eater of Worlds had his way, he’d be facing The People’s Champion at Wrestlemania 33 next year in Orlando. Bray Wyatt vs. The Rock would be a continuation of last year’s show, but the chance of the powers that be in WWE booking that match for Wrestlemania is low. The idea for Finn Balor vs. Wyatt has also been thrown out by the WWE fans for the grandest stage of them all, which is admittedly very interesting.
However, it is being reported that WWE officials were thinking about a feud between Bray Wyatt and Triple H heading into WWE Summerslam last month. Obviously, other plans took precedence and HHH vs. Wyatt has been delayed. The rumor now is that the feud will be picked back up on “the Road to Wrestlemania 33” and we’ll be seeing The Eater of Worlds vs. The Game in Orlando next year.
Although WWE may have had plans for Triple H vs. Seth Rollins for Wrestlemania, there are reports of that match taking place at WWE Survivor Series, which would give WWE plenty of time to make the necessary changes to book Triple H vs. Bray Wyatt for next year’s showcase of the immortals.
As of this writing, Triple H is involved with the WWE Universal title picture on Raw and is clearly headed into a power struggle on Raw and a feud with Rollins. Bray Wyatt is currently deadlocked into a feud with Randy Orton on SmackDown. Both men are heels, so before a feud between the two men can happen, one of them will have to turn face over the next few months. Either man could do it, but Wyatt is the better choice.
The storyline is fairly easy because it would most likely feature Bray Wyatt as an anti-authority figure, who targets The Game in order to “take down the Machine.” Another possibility is Wyatt could become such a problem that Triple H has to go to SmackDown to stop him. There are several different ways this feud could be presented on WWE television. Most importantly, it’ll be great for Bray Wyatt, and the WWE fans will get behind him since they know he deserves the top spot. Soon after, he could be chasing down WWE titles.
