Liam Payne has been visiting songwriting partner Louis Tomlinson in LA, and Dunkirk colleagues and Olympian athlete friends have been revealing tidbits about Harry Styles this week. Details about Harry Styles’ solo album have also been revealed.
Digital Spy reports that Harry’s solo material will play to his strengths, emphasizing the rock tones in his voice.
“Anyone who listened to One Direction’s music will know that Harry’s voice always sounded best over a more rock and folk-tinged backdrop.”
Styles has chosen his collaborators with this in mind. The report states that Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid has written no less than eight tracks with Harry. While it’s not clear if all the penned tunes will make it onto the album, the report hints that some of the biggest hits could be these Johnny/Harry collaborations. McDaid has, after all, penned some big chart-friendly tunes with superstar Ed Sheeran in the past.
“[Johnny McDaid] has worked with Harry on no less than eight tracks. Considering Johnny’s previous co-writing credits also include Ed Sheeran, expect some big chart-friendly anthems backed by plenty of guitar.”
Back in May, McDaid told reporters that he is excited about his work with Harry Styles. He even said he thinks listeners will be “shocked” by what Harry has come up with!
“I’m really excited by the way he’s sounding at the minute, he’s such a talent. I think the world is going to be really shocked at what he comes up with.”

Harry’s other big collaborator has been Gary Go, a British producer who has worked with Rihanna, Take That and Kylie Minogue. Gary co-wrote four Harry Styles tracks: “Already Home,” “Coco,” “Endlessly,” and “5378 Miles.” The names of these songs have been floating around on the internet for a while now, and fans have speculated about what the songs might be about. “5378 Miles” sounds like it could be about Harry’s life touring with One Direction and the pain of being away from the people he loves in London and Cheshire. “Already Home” might be about some time Harry spent with a loved one while on tour — perhaps a familiar face made Harry feel like he was already home.

The report also speculates that Harry may include one of the songs he recorded in studio sessions with Irish band Kodaline way back in 2014. Harry and Kodaline recorded a track called “Make It Feel Right.”
Kodaline frontman Steve Garrigan revealed at the time that the guys recorded with Harry because they all had “a bit of free time.”
“We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun.”
Bandmate Vinny May stated that the tracks they recorded could well appear on an upcoming Harry Styles solo album.
“It could be on his album if he does something, but I don’t know.”
Meghan Trainor of “All About That Bass” fame has written a duet with Harry. Trainor revealed that they wrote it together on Meghan’s ukelele and it’s “a cute acoustic love thing.”
“It’s real! It’s a duet. It’s a beautiful song we wrote together on my ukulele. We even recorded a rough demo together with our vocals together. It’s a cute acoustic love thing.”
OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder may also be contributing to the Harry Styles album, though it’s far from confirmed. Tedder revealed that they’ve written together, but he had “no idea” what the songs were for.
“We’ve done a couple of things, I have no idea what they’re for.”
The album details comes as Harry Styles is wrapping up Dunkirk and taking time out to party. A Dunkirk crew member has spoken out, saying that Harry is a sweetheart and great to work with. Olympian Chris Meares has also lavished some praise on Harry recently, saying that they hang out and it ‘ s always “cool.”
Harry has been hanging out with friends and co-writers, and Louis Tomlinson is following suit. A key Louis Tomlinson account claims that Liam Payne was spotted visiting Louis in LA.
Perhaps prolific One Direction writers Liam and Louis will be preparing something for the band’s next album. OK reveals that Liam has also been busy recording music for his solo album.
