‘Modern Family’ Star Ariel Winter Urges Fans To Love Their Bullies
Ariel Winter has taken more than her share of bullying in recent years, and that has given her a unique perspective on dealing with even her most hateful critics. However, it has also given the Modern Family star the experience to know how best to deal with those situations.
In a new Instagram post, Ariel urges her fans and followers to turn the other cheek when dealing with their own haters and to look deeper at the problems each of those harsh critics is facing. In essence, Winter urges people to take the higher road and lend a compassionate hand to those who need it most of all.

Ariel Winter has been calling out her bullies ever since they started harassing her on her various social media accounts, but People magazine reveals that Ms. Winter is now taking an entirely new approach. Instead of firing back each time a hater calls her out for wearing what they deem an inappropriate dress or for baring her scars from her recent breast reduction surgery, Ariel has decided to respond to hateful messages with messages of love.
“Every time someone bullies me online, it gives me a chance to re-emphasize to my fans, and even myself, how important self-acceptance is,” Winter wrote in an Instagram post. “Those who say such harsh things on my Instagram, thank you for this opportunity – but the question I ask myself each time I read the mean comments is if this is how you talk to a stranger online, I can only imagine how cruelly you speak to yourself.”
Winter urges her critics to stop hating and turn their critical eyes inward to identify their own flaws and limitations, saying that only then can each person find the “perfect you,” which ultimately leads to personal happiness.
“I love my fans and I love my bullies for what they truly NEED is love. Take the high road, there is less traffic. XO,” Ariel said in ending the message.

When she’s not trying to rid the world of cyber bullies, Ariel Winter is focusing on her career and her education, but as E! News reports, the Modern Family actress has chosen to put off one for the other. Ariel reveals that a hectic shooting schedule has forced her to put college off for another year. When she does enroll at UCLA next year, it will be to pursue a degree in political science, suggesting Ms. Winter’s aspirations may eventually take her away from the Hollywood limelight and towards a political hot seat.
Ariel also took an opportunity to dispel rumors that she has been dating Sterling Beaumon.
“It’s funny, you know? Everyone thinks when a girl walks out with a guy, and they’re friends, immediately it has to be that they’re dating if they spend a lot of time together. When really it’s just that people have friends, they see each other,” the Modern Family star explained.

Winter went on to say that she has many friends, both male and female, so she feels it’s shameful that she should have to make a public statement every time she’s seen in the company of one of her male friends. She adds that it will be her decision to reveal a romance, if and one exists, and she hopes the media and her fans can come to respect that.
When it comes to public appearances, Ariel Winter chooses whomever she wishes to accompany her to events.
“I might take a friend [to the Emmys]. I might bring one of my family members,” Winter said. “As everyone thinks I’m dating someone, I’m not. I’m like, so single. If I was dating someone I would let everyone know, but I’m not. So it really just depends, I might bring a friend this year.”
