Why Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui Broke Down In Tears During Concert [Video]
Fifth Harmony star Lauren Jauregui broke down in tears during the band’s most recent “7/27 Tour” stop.
Fan captured footage shows Jauregui getting visibly emotional while performing with her bandmates at Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona, on August 8, crying as the girl group performed the track “No Way.”
Fifth Harmony fans quickly took to social media to voice their concerns for Jauregui, posting footage of Lauren crying onstage alongside messages of support.
“This video breaks my heart into a 100000 pieces #WeLoveYouLauren,” @jaureguidoomed tweeted alongside the clip of Lauren crying, while @adoringcabello added, “This breaks my heart my poor baby #WeLoveYouLauren.”
A slew of other Fifth Harmony fans joined the conversation after Jauregui was seen crying during the band’s Phoenix concert, trending the hashtag #WeLoveYouLauren and sending sweet messages to the girlband star to show their love following the seriously emotional onstage moment.
“Lauren is always there for us and we’ll always be here for her #WeLoveYouLauren” Fifth Harmony fan @anxietylmj tweeted out after Jauregui broke down in tears, while @5HBrasil wrote, “Your smile is so precious @LaurenJauregui #WeLoveYouLauren.”
Lauren took to social media on August 9 to address the footage of her crying onstage, telling Fifth Harmony’s dedicated fans that the lyrics of the song, which is featured on the band’s latest album 7/27, got to her during the performance.
“Thank you guys so much for the love and concern,” Jauregui told Fifth Harmony fans on Twitter just one day after falling to her knees and crying during the band’s performance of “No Way.”
“I’m feeling a lot better today!” Lauren continued, noting that the “lyrics just made me extra emotional yesterday.”
Notably, “No Way” is one of Fifth Harmony’s more emotional songs, as Lauren alluded to in an Instagram post uploaded to Fifth Harmony’s official account back in April, in which she told fans that the track is actually her favorite from 7/27.
Lauren Jauregui candidly spoke out about the song when debuting the 7/27 track list on social media earlier this year, telling fans that she “just connected so intensely with the lyrics” of “No Way” the very first time she heard it, which is likely why she cried earlier this week.
“[The lyrics] were so raw and honest about a relationship that was just toxic but from everyone else’s perspective and about how they know that they’re made for each other and to love each other and to heal each other,” the Fifth Harmony star said.
“We were able to emote in a way we hadn’t ever done before in our music,” Lauren continued about the Fifth Harmony track just months before crying during the performance. “Every time I hear it now the emotion behind the words; and I hadn’t felt that connected to any of the songs in that way before. I love the vulnerability and the reality of the situation.”
Jauregui’s tear-filled moment is just the latest emotional drama to hit Fifth Harmony in recent days.
It was just days before concertgoers captured video of Jauregui crying that Lauren’s bandmate, Camila Cabello, left the band’s concert early, telling fans that she was suffering from crippling anxiety that left her unable to continue with the concert.
“Hi Missouri, sorry I couldn’t finish the set last night,” Camila told Fifth Harmony fans in a Snapchat video on September 3. “Was having too much anxiety and couldn’t finish it… I’m truly sorry.”
But Camila leaving the concert early wasn’t the only drama to surround the girls during their Missouri “7/27 Tour” stop.
During the same concert, Fifth Harmony fans also accused Cabello of pushing Jauregui out of the way as she took center stage.
Video from the show appeared to show Camila grazing Lauren’s shoulder during Fifth Harmony’s performance at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre on September 2, but while their interaction seemed pretty innocent, fans were quick to accuse the singer of pushing her bandmate out the way.
Fifth Harmony fan @salutecamila took to Twitter to share footage of the incident, after which some Fifth Harmony fans claimed Cabello actually shoved Lauren during the performance.
