Lamar Odom’s Divorce Continues As Khloe Kardashian Moves On

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian split in the middle of 2013 due to his alleged cheating and drug use, but still, their divorce has not yet been finalized.

Although the former couple may be done with their marriage by now, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star held up the process at the end of last year when she filed a request to have their divorce petition thrown out, which was granted.

As fans will recall, Kardashian chose to call off her divorce from Lamar Odom in October in order to remain in control of Odom’s medical care after the former professional athlete suffered a drug overdose while partying at a Nevada brothel. When Odom was first discovered unconscious, his prognosis was not good, but after a few days, he awoke from a coma and was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles by a medical helicopter with Kardashian at his side.

While Kardashian remained with Lamar Odom for several days straight and continued to stick by him as he recovered at West Hollywood’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a reconciliation didn’t seem possible as she was dating Houston Rockets’ star James Harden. Then, after Odom was released from the hospital and Kardashian split from Harden, things between them appeared to take a romantic turn.

During an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 12 earlier this summer, Lamar Odom and his wife were seen talking about getting back together and Kardashian threw out the idea of a second wedding. She also said that they should still go through with their divorce because their current marriage has been “tainted.”

At the start of filming, things between Lamar Odom and Kardashian appeared to be progressing in a positive direction, but by spring, Odom had reportedly fallen back into his old habits and began drinking again. At that point, their relationship became strained and by May, Kardashian had cut off her financial assistance to Odom and re-filed documents to end their marriage once and for all.

Since refiling documents to end her marriage to Lamar Odom, Kardashian has been spotted out with Cleveland Cavaliers’ forward Tristan Thompson. After enjoying a night out at a club in Los Angeles, followed by a visit to Beverly Hills with some friends, Kardashian and Thompson traveled to Mexico where they’ve been photographed riding jet skis and chatting by the pool.

According to a recent report, things between Kardashian and Thompson are heating up, but they aren’t in a serious relationship quite yet.

“Khloe certainly has a type and Tristan fits that mold, but right now they are friends with benefits. It is a fling at best right now,” an insider revealed to Hollywood Life on September 6. “She is not denying that she finds him attractive and would consider more than just the fling since she usually falls for a guy real quick, but she also doesn’t want to take herself off the market. She likes being single and Tristan hasn’t captured her heart full force at this point in time. But when it comes to friends with benefits, now we can start talking!”

Lamar Odom has not yet commented on Kardashian’s new romance, nor has he spoken at all of his alleged alcohol and drug use. That said, Radar Online seemed to confirm his drug relapse last week when they shared photos of the athlete reportedly smoking marijuana in Rhode Island.
