‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 5 Cast: Bennett Could Be About To Make A Return [Spoilers]
Fan favorite character Officer Bennet caused heartbreak amongst fans when he mysteriously departed Orange Is the New Black at the end of Season 3 and didn’t make a return in Season 4. However, with the show’s upcoming fifth season, that could all be about to change. Whilst producers haven’t confirmed the return of CO Bennet, actor Matt McGorry has dropped the biggest hint yet that his character is returning next season.
According to Digital Spy, the actor shared a picture of himself and fellow Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox to his Instagram account. Whilst it’s entirely possible that the pair could just be hanging out together, the picture has sparked speculation that McGorry’s character is set to make a return. Cox’s character made a return to the show in the latter episodes of the most recent season, suggesting the pair could be working together on the upcoming season. However, as aforementioned, there’s no confirmation from the show’s producers as of yet.
The character left Orange Is the New Black at the end of Season 3, following an emotionally charged storyline involving Daya, played by Dascha Polanco, and their baby. It was that storyline that pushed Daya over the edge and Season 4 closed with the character wrapped up in the show’s most explosive scene yet.
With Daya in trouble, the opening of Orange Is the New Black Season 5 could provide the perfect gateway for Bennet’s return. Fans are speculating that Bennet could turn up and save the day. However, his character was never one for taking drastic action, as many more fans have pointed out. With that in mind, if Officer John Bennet does make a return to Orange Is the New Black Season 5, whether or not the character will redeem himself for the trouble he caused in Season 3 remains to be seen.
