Actor Johnny Lewis, who played a supporting role in the first two seasons of the hit FX show Sons of Anarchy , was found dead yesterday at the home of an 81-year-old woman who had also died.
TMZ reports that Lewis is also suspected of murdering the 81-year-old woman he was found with. According to their law enforcement sources, the 28-year-old was found in a driveway on Wednesday morning in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. The woman who owned the home was dead inside, the victim of an apparent homicide. Investigators reportedly believe that Lewis beat the elderly woman to death.
According to NY Daily , Lewis may have been renting a room from the woman. One of the woman’s neighbors and a handyman heard the woman screaming Wednesday and responded before police arrived. Lewis apparently confronted them, attacking them with a piece of wood and injuring them both. Lewis then apparently climbed to the roof or balcony and jumped or fell to his death.
“The best we’re piecing together now is that it appears that some type of altercation occurred inside of the house resulting in the death of the woman,” LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told KABC TV. “Then this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here, he had fallen or had somehow died on the driveway.”
Lewis is the sole suspect in the woman’s murder.
Lewis played SAMCRO Prospect Kip “Half-Sack” Epps on Sons of Anarchy for two seasons. His character was killed off in the season 2 finale: Lewis was reportedly leaving the show over creative differences. He also had roles in The OC , Criminal Minds, Bones, and CSI as well as film credits including Alien vs. Predator: Requiem and The Runaways .
Lewis also dated Katy Perry back in 2006; the couple attended numerous Hollywood events together.
