‘Days Of Our Lives’: Has Deimos Kiriakis Really Changed? [Theory]

Days Of Our Lives fans have seen quite a few soap opera villains over the years, but nobody holds a candle to Stefano DiMera. However, Joseph Mascolo’s character is dead, which meant a new big bad was needed. The newest evil character introduced is Deimos Kiriakis, but is he really as wicked as people think? Has he changed or is he just playing everyone?

DOOL spoilers and theories are ahead. If you don’t want to know any information on what may happen with Deimos and the other characters, then stop reading now.

Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry) has been trying to prove to Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) that he is a changed man. However, she isn’t too sure that the changes are permanent or if Daimios is just trying to win her heart.

As fans recall, when Irizarry debuted as Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) brother, everyone was shocked. He was never mentioned, not even to his own family. It turns out that Victor’s fiancée died in an accident decades earlier. Angry over his brother stealing Helena, Victor blamed Deimos and let him spend 30 years in prison.

When the Days Of Our Lives villain came to Salem, he was all about revenge. However, innocent bystanders ended up getting burned in the fire. One of those was Victor’s wife, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers). She is now in a wheelchair because of him.

Anyone would be thirsty for revenge after spending three decades in prison. However, Kiriakis didn’t seem too concerned when he seriously injured Maggie. He claims he is sorry about it now and even threatened a doctor to perform surgery, but are his intentions pure? What was the real reason he made that deal with Victor? Has Deimos really changed?

His near-death experience did change Vincent Irizarry’s character, and he seems to value life more these days. He also knows that time of Earth can be snatched away at any moment. He may have thoughts that revenge against Victor isn’t worth it, but he wants something in return. When his brother wouldn’t accept his apology, this probably didn’t sit too well with Deimos.

The soap opera character has changed a little bit, but only in realizing that life is short. He is wasting no time in going after what he wants. Right now, that is Nicole Walker. Chemistry and romance alone won’t win her heart, though. She requires a man who is a good and decent person, one that was like Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian).

So, has Deimos Kiriakis really changed on Days Of Our Lives ? The answer is yes and no. He was willing to set aside his grudge against Victor, but he wanted to gain a family. That didn’t happen the way he expected it to.

He let Kate go without paying for her crime, but when she tries to get revenge, Kiriakis will revert to his old ways.

As for Arianne Zucker’s character, he will romance her, but what happens when he gets the prize? Will he get bored with Nicole or slowly revert back to his old ways? The honeymoon period of a relationship doesn’t last forever. Also, changes that are not genuine are hard to keep up forever. There is also the fact that he doesn’t really know her as an individual. She simply looks like Helena, which is why he is so drawn to her. What happens when he finds out that she is her own woman and isn’t like Helena at all?

With all of that being said, Deimos probably isn’t as bad as DOOL fans think. He certainly isn’t in the same league as the DiMera family. A lot of his problems stem from being punished for a crime he didn’t commit and the lack of a family. If he were to have a family of his own, his focus would be on his son or daughter instead of everyone else.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Chloe Lane is pregnant with Deimos’ baby. Perhaps this is an opportunity for his storyline to turn more positive. However, before that happens, Nicole will have to make some decisions. How will a baby complicate things?

Fans will find out in the next few weeks. She Knows reported that Nadia Bjorlin ‘s character will consider having an abortion. As for Nicole, Glamour interviewed executive producer Ken Corday who teased the baby story, as well as someone from Nicole’s past.

What do you think of Vincent Irizarry’s character? Has he really changed? Or is he just fooling everyone on Days Of Our Lives ?
