Iggy Azalea And French Montana: She Addresses Romance Rumors
When Iggy Azalea and French Montana were photographed together at Jennifer Lopez’s residency in Las Vegas, as the Inquisitr previously reported, media and fans began speculating about their relationship.
After watching J-Lo perform in “All I Have,” Azalea and Montana ended up at the same nightclub, Jewel, where the “Team” rapper performed a short set. After she left the stage, photos show that she and Montana hung out together throughout the night. Witnesses claimed that they even seemed to be flirting a bit.
Pictures can speak a thousand words, but they can also fuel crazy rumors. So, what’s going on between the two rappers?
At the Maxim Hot 100 party on July 30, Iggy Azalea did a short interview with E! Online. When asked about Montana, she explained her connection to him — and it’s purely musical.
“We’re [just] collaborating. I’ve got another single coming out with French Montana, so we recorded it while I was in Las Vegas last week,” the Australian rapper said. “It should be having a music video filmed to it in the next few weeks.”
Iggy Azalea split from her fiance, NBA player Nick Young, a few weeks ago after being together for almost two years. Rumors of trouble between the two began flying after a video clip, reportedly recorded in secret by Young’s teammate D’Angelo Russell, leaked on the internet a few months ago. It appeared to be Nick Young’s confession that he’d cheated on his then-fiancee, as the Big Lead reported.
In June, Azalea posted online (the posts have since been deleted) that after attempting to work things out with Young and rebuild trust in their relationship, she called off the engagement. According to her, she had proof that Young cheated on multiple occasions while she was out of town. Allegations that his ex-girlfriend Keonna Green, and mother of his only child, was pregnant again by Young only made the split uglier.
Green confirmed the pregnancy rumors in an interview with Us Weekly. Azalea admitted that side of the story was a complete surprise to her, and it was obviously an unwelcome one.
French Montana was last linked to actress Sanaa Lathan, but neither of them ever seemed to confirm the relationship entirely, according to Us Weekly. Before that, the 31-year-old dated Khloe Kardashian on and off while Kardashian dealt with her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s drug-related personal issues.
Iggy Azalea is keeping herself busy in the wake of the drama. Earlier this year, she joined the judges panel for X Factor Australia Season 8 in her home country, alongside singers Adam Lambert and Guy Sebastian, Idolator reported.
According to her, Lambert is a force on the panel of judges since he’s not afraid to be completely honest.
“I think I’m the nice one! I thought that I would be the mean one but Adam is so spicy. He really tells it how it is. I’m pretty meek compared to him,” she told E! Online at the Maxim party.
The rapper’s sophomore album, Digital Distortion, was rumored to be released this summer, but according to MTV News, it’s been delayed partially because the 26-year-old accepted her place with X Factor, since the show means she’ll have to be on set in Australia. She confirmed as much to a fan who tweeted her.
Azalea has also been working behind the scenes with NBC. She announced on Instagram last week that Azalea Street, her production company, will be creating original content for the network and they’re already lining up some scripted series.
Iggy Azalea and French Montana wouldn’t be the first celebrities to have a collaboration on a song lead to something more, so stay tuned.
