Rory McIlroy’s Girlfriend Holly Sweeney Coping with being a “Sports Girlfriend”

Rory McIlroy’s Girlfriend, Holly Sweeney, the shy 16 year old, is taking to being in the media spotlight in stride.

Holly Sweeney, golf star Rory McIlroy’s 16 year old Girlfriend, is not used to being in the media spotlight, but takes it as all part of being in a relationship with an up and coming celebrity. When asked about their relationship and how his young girlfriend is adjusting to the fame, Rory told the Belfast Telegraph:

“Holly is quite shy. This is the first time she has been in the media spotlight and she has handled herself really well, but I think she doesn’t want to turn into a typical girlfriend of a sports person, so she likes to take a back seat. There is obviously a lot of attention now and we don’t want to turn into a typical Posh and Becks-type couple. We just want to lie under the radar.”

But Rory isn’t about to just have his girlfriend tag along and sit by the wayside while he’s on the greens. The couple already spent some time at a posh indoor skiing holiday in Dubai where golf clubs were left behind in favor of spending quality time together.
