Season 4 of Vikings is currently on hiatus with the second half to air later in 2016. It is likely the return date announcement for Season 4 of Vikings will be made at San Diego Comic Con 2016. History Channel has confirmed there will be an exclusive sneak peek into Season 4 at Comic Con this year. However, for those of you who can’t wait until Comic Con later in the month, a very special sneak peek of Season 4 of Vikings has been released by the History Channel!
The clip is very short and includes images of Ragnar’s grown up sons, Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), Ivar (Høgh Andersen), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Sigurd (David Lindstron) and Hvitserk (Marco Islø), all of who were briefly introduced as adults in the Season 4 mid-season finale of Vikings back in April. Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is seen briefly, although the clip of him is one shown in the previous Season 4 return video . Also included in the clip is Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard). While all these characters are shown, very little is revealed as far as the storylines moving forward in Season 4 of Vikings .
Surprisingly, fans finally get a look at a slightly aged Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). While the men around her have aged, Lagertha, a shield maiden who has fought many a hard battle both on and off the battle field, appears to have remained the same age in Vikingsup to this point. Finally, it seems History Channel has decided it is time for Lagertha to show her age. Along with this image of Lagertha, Katheryn Winnick has posted the following imageto her Instagramaccount showing one of Lagertha’s upcoming hairstyles from Season 4 of Vikings. “This season you’ll see [Lagertha] with little pieces of Celtic metal [in her hair] when she’s going to battle, which looks fabulous on her,” the stylist behind this new looktold International Business Times.

Along with the Season 4B teaser video, the 2016 Emmy Nominations are in and Vikings gets three nominations. Although the actors miss out on any nominations, the crew behind the scenes get a chance to shine. The first Emmy nomination is for “Outstanding Makeup For A Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthethic).” This nomination is for Episode 4 (entitled “Yol”), Season 4 of Vikings . Also nominated in this category is Game of Thrones (“Battle of the Bastards”), Penny Dreadful (“Glorious Horrors”), The Knick (“Whiplash”) and Vinyl (“Pilot”).
The next two nominations are for the Season 4 mid-season finale of Vikings , “The Last Ship.” Firstly, Vikings gets a nomination in the category of “Outstanding Sound Editing For A Series.” Also nominated is Black Sails (“XX”), Game Of Thrones (“The Door”), Gotham (“Azrael”) and Marvel’s Daredevil (“New York’s Finest”). Finally, Vikings got nominated for “Outstanding Special Visual Effects.” The other series nominated for this category are Black Sails (“XX”), Game Of Thrones (“Battle Of The Bastards”), Penny Dreadful (“And They Were Enemies”) and The Man In The High Castle (“The New World”).
Vikingswill return later in 2016, and has been renewedfor Season 5 by the History Channel. As yet, History Channel has not made an official announcement on when Season 4 will return, but speculation has ranged from July 7through to October of this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter , History Channel’s Vikings panel will be held in Room 6BCF on Friday, July 22, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Along with Michael Hirst, the lineup is as follows: Travis Fimmel (Ragnar Lothbrok), Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha), Clive Standen (Duke Rollo), Gustaf Skarsgard (Floki), Alyssa Sutherland (Aslaug), and Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn Ironside).
