‘Pokémon GO’: 6 Reasons Why You Should Not Be Playing This Game!
Just within the first week of its launch, Pokémon GO has already become an online sensation. The location-based, augmented reality mobile game was one of the most downloaded smartphone apps upon its release and has become the most active mobile game ever in the United States with more than 22 million players. According to Independent, the game has been credited with improving the mental and physical health of players who are suffering from social anxiety and depression. However, there are few things about Pokémon GO that cannot be avoided if one intends to play this game for a long time.
1. If You Want To Avoid Accidents.
Ever since the launch of the game, there are reports that players forgot their surrounding and reportedly fell into potholes, twisted their ankles, and even walked into lampposts. Redditor Amalthea took to Reddit to explain how just 30 minutes after downloading the game, they had managed to slip and fall into a ditch and fractured one of the bones in their foot. Amalthea is expecting a full recovery in six to eight weeks.

2. If You Don’t Want To Be Robbed.
Pokémon GO works by finding certain Pokémon at specific locations. It means that at a certain time, a lot of players might gather at an exact location to find their Pokémon. It did not take long for the looters to find this new way of exploiting the players. According to the Guardian, police in O’Fallon, Missouri, got a call at 2 a.m. about a group of four players who were playing Pokémon GO on a hotspot device when armed robbers lured the players to an isolated parking lot and robbed them. According to the Sgt. Bill Stringer, the suspects were charged with first-degree robbery and had bond set at $100,000 cash.
3. If You Wish To Avoid Crashing Your Car.
Everyone knows that using their phone while driving is indeed a bad idea, and playing a game while driving is more dangerous, especially when one is catching a rare Pokémon. Users have found out that they will catch more Pokémon if they travel via their cars. However, looking at a smartphone while driving is dangerous and probably illegal. According to KTLA5, multiple law enforcement agencies around the world have had to issue warnings to players that they are not only putting their own lives at risk, but they are also endangering other drivers as well.

4. If You Want To Save Your Relationship.
People enjoy playing the game with their family and friends, but at a certain point, their addiction creates problems for their loved ones. Buzzfeed reported about a man who was with his wife in a hospital while she was waiting for a C-section. According to the player, he found a Pidgey on his wife’s hospital bed, and at that moment, his wife found out his real priorities. Well, he got off lightly, but this may not be the case for everyone.
5. If You Don’t Want Extra Attention.
Many players have reported that they are making new friends via this game. Well, making new friends is a great thing, but it also brings some unwanted attention. There have been several reports of female players who found it extremely uncomfortable when other players approached them and talked about their personal lives. Well, everyone is not out there to make friends, and some folks are just hoping to catch some Pokémon and have fun.
6. If You Wish To Save Your Internet Data.
The game uses a lot of internet data because Pokémon GO spends a lot of time using map data to generate the feeds from the location and helping the players in keeping the track of their Pokémon and where they will be able to find the next one. Many players have taken to Twitter to complain that they are unable to catch them all as they do not have enough internet data. On the other hand, many players have reported that they have already used up their monthly data plan and are going to get hit with some huge bills.
