Andy Cohen Says Kelly Dodd Surprising Tamra Judge On ‘RHOC’ Is Good Business

Andy Cohen apparently loves the addition of Kelly Dodd to the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County because she makes for great TV. Why is that? It seems that viewers will see Kelly not backing down when it comes to fighting with Tamra Judge as Season 11 progresses. In the latest Ask Andy segment, posted on Friday, Andy talked about new cast member Kelly and the fact that she even caught Tamra off-guard.

When Andy’s assistant read off a Twitter question from a viewer that asked for his opinion on new housewife Kelly, Andy quickly made it clear that viewers can expect a lot of excitement and drama from Kelly. He then implied that viewers will see Kelly, rather than back down in the face of Tamra’s wrath, go head-to-head with the veteran.

“She’s a piece of work. She’s a firecracker. She’s got an amazing house. I think her family’s hilarious. And, uh, she’s a good, she’s good. I think any housewife that makes Tamra, that surprises Tamra, is always good for business.”

Tamra, who joined The Real Housewives of Orange County in Season 3, is known for her often-times outlandish behavior and unfiltered mouth. She has had plenty of drama with many of her co-stars throughout the seasons, such as with Jeana Keough, Gretchen Rossi, and Alexis Bellino.

In Season 6, Tamra threw a glass of wine at Jeana’s face after Jeana approached Tamra to clear the air over rumors in the press. Jeana, while walking away, said that Tamra needs a rabies shot.

“That girl needs a rabies shot. I mean, that’s ridiculous, who behaves that way? I’ve never seen anything…ah, it’s good we didn’t have far to go.”

When Gretchen joined the show in Season 4, Tamra made fun of her for being with a much older, rich man. Tamra joked with Vicki Gunvalson that Gretchen was just another gold digger. By the start of Season 8 however, Tamra and Gretchen were good friends. Yet, that friendship deteriorated as the season progressed, especially after Tamra took off with Gretchen’s enemy at that time, Vicki, during her bachelorette party weekend in Mexico, a trip that Gretchen planned. Then, Tamra made up with Alexis, Gretchen’s former friend, and invited her to go wedding dress shopping with the group. During her appearance on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live in October 2014, Gretchen branded Tamra a “narcissist” and “sociopath.”

“The thing is that Tamra Barney has lost all credibility with everybody, including the viewers. She’s the biggest lying, manipulating, conniving, narcissistic sociopath. And I say she’s a sociopath because sociopaths don’t even realize that they do any wrong. All they do is blame everyone else for their mistakes, and that’s all she continues to do.”

As for Alexis, who was on the show from Seasons 5 through 8, Tamra Judge frequently said that she was hypocritical, materialistic and phony. During the Season 7 reunion show, Tamra even called Alexis, a devout Christian with breast implants, “Jesus Jugs.” During the Season 10 reunion show, Andy read out an e-mail from Alexis that accused Tamra, whose baptism was a major story line for the season, of not being genuine with her newfound Christian faith.

Yet, it seems that despite all her previous drama with housewives such as Jeana Keough, Gretchen Rossi and Alexis Bellino, Tamra Judge still wasn’t prepared for Kelly Dodd. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, in an interview prior to the premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 11, Tamra admitted that Kelly did more than just shake things up.

“I think that shaking things up is an understatement when it comes to her. I have personally never met anybody like her. People say, ‘I tell it like it is.’ This girl doesn’t care whose feelings she hurts. She’ll tell it like it is. If she thinks you’re ugly, she’ll tell you you’re ugly. There’s zero filter… I really think she’s like a fifth grader. She can’t get her words out. She just attacks people.”
