Madonna Gets Giant Obama Tattoo To Show Her Support
Madonna showed off a giant OBAMA tattoo at a concert in New York City, a glaring but possibly not permanent display of her political allegiance to the president.
The Material Girl was in the middle of a slow turn of “Like a Virgin” before the 40,000 fans watching her concert at Yankee Stadium when she unveiled the Obama tattoo, the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported.
“Tonight I’m not going to show you my a–, I’m going to show you my feelings,” Madonna told the crowd before turning around to show OBAMA tattooed across her lower back.
The crowd cheered, but not everyone was on board. The Huffington Post reported that one man yelled, “I’d rather see your a–.”
Madonna’s MDNA tour has taken a political turn in recent months. She has used her platform to defend Russian punk rock band Pussy Riot, who have been sentenced to prison for performing an anti-Vladimir Putin song in Moscow’s main Orthodox cathedral.
“It made me realize how lucky I am to be living in America,” Madonna said about the jailed rockers. “Thank God for Michelle Obama and her good-looking husband, too. We are free. Do not, do not, do not take this freedom for granted because if you do for one second, you lose it.”
Madonna also got herself into some trouble after superimposing a swastika on the face of French National Front leader Marine Le Pen in an attempt to highlight “the intolerance human beings have for one another.”
Madonn’s Obama tattoo isn’t the first time she used body paint to show her political leanings either. She scrawled “Pussy Riot” on her back at a concert last month, the Daily Mail noted, leading Russia’s deputy prime minister to call her “moralizing slut.”
