Savannah Brinson: Wife Of LeBron James Shies Away From Spotlight, But Making A Name In Her Own Field
Savannah Brinson won’t be seen going on a Twitter tirade or starring in reality television shows, but away from the spotlight the wife of Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is making a name for herself in a very different field.
Brinson has garnered quite a bit of screen time during the 2016 NBA Finals, especially as her husband took his team from the brink of elimination back to a Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors. But she has tried her best to stay out of the spotlight, instead spending time with the couple’s two children.
Away from the court, Savannah Brinson is building a name in the world of interior design, and even worked with American Signature on a line of family friendly furniture.
“I designed every piece for a different reason and purpose,” she told Capitol File. “So I love each one.”
The collection included pieces that were both stylish and durable, which LeBron James said was inspired by the couple’s three very active children — sons LeBron Jr. and Bryce Maximus and daughter Zhuri.
“The inspiration for the line came from watching LeBron Jr. and Bryce playing in their own bedroom and how much fun they have together,” says LeBron Sr. “The most important aspect of the line’s creation is the name, Home Court. Home is where you have everything you need, exactly how you like it, similar to having a homecourt advantage in basketball. We want this line to have everything that makes a child thrilled to be in his or her room.”
Savannah Brinson has a hand in other entrepreneurial endeavors. When James was a member of the Miami Heat, she opened a smoothie bar in South Florida called The Juice Spot, which closed earlier this year. Brinson is now looking to open a store in the Cleveland area, the Miami Herald reported.
Brinson has been by LeBron’s side since before he hit the NBA. The two were highschool sweethearts at St. Vincent St. Mary’s High School in Akron, and Savannah got pregnant during their senior year (and was five months pregnant at their senior prom).

But throughout LeBron’s 13 seasons in the NBA, wife Savannah Brinson has done her best to stay on the sidelines and out of the limelight. That is now in sharp contrast during the NBA Finals, as LeBron’s team is facing Stephen Curry and his increasingly famous wife, Ayesha.
Ayesha Curry has gained a big following online through her social media and lifestyle blog, and now is even getting a show of her own on the Food Network. She’s taken an even bigger stature during the NBA Finals, especially after going on a rant on Twitter after her husband was ejected in the waning minutes of Game 6.
Ayesha hinted that the series was “rigged” in a tweet that was soon deleted. Later, her husband joked about cutting off his wife’s access to the internet.
But the fame of LeBron James has brought some unwanted attention to Savannah as well, including conspiracy theories about the couple’s relationship. Last year it was a story that LeBron may be secretly dating pop star Rihanna (because they two are friends and LeBron let her use his private jet to fly to Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals). This year the couple faced reports that LeBron was carrying on an affair with Instagram model Rachel Bush.
International Business Times noted that LeBron sent a private message to Bush.
“Bush, who has nearly 230,000 followers on Instagram, apparently started the rumors when she posted a photo from the Cavaliers home game Monday. The message, which used emoji, essentially said basketball with bae. (Bae is slang for ‘before anyone else,’ or babe.) James was pictured in the foreground.”
But despite the sometimes unwanted attention, Savannah Brinson is still avoiding the spotlight and forging ahead in her own career.
