Calvin Harris Quickly Addresses The Rihanna Dating Rumors
Ever since Calvin Harris deleted all of Taylor Swift’s photos from his Instagram after she was spotted with actor Tom Hiddleston, the Scottish DJ seems to have shifted his focus on Rihanna.
It all started when the hit maker took to both Instagram and Twitter to tease some behind-the-scene photos from the set of his music video with featured artist Rihanna. He revealed to fans that the music video for their new song “This Is What You Came For” will drop on Friday, June 17. Here are some of Harris’ posts from his social media accounts.
“F R I D A Y @rihanna,” he wrote on Twitter with a sexy shot of the singer onset of the music video. Of course, TMZ took that tweet and ran with it by running the headline, “Calvin Harris – Rihanna’s Next For Me!!” The outlet claims that he has already moved on from Taylor by hitting the gym, proudly wearing Kanye’s Yeezys, and showing off sexy photos of Rihanna. The report also hinted towards Taylor cheating and lying to Calvin when she dated him.
After he noticed the report, Harris linked back to it and responded, “Lol I said the VIDEO dammit smh (shaking my head).”

On the other hand, Rihanna and Calvin Harris do look good together. RiRi was clearly the star of the video as she danced around inside a cube that flashed lasers, strobe lights, and a series of backdrops around her. Calvin also makes an appearance in the video, which is rare for the DJ. Don’t blink or you’ll miss him lurking behind Rihanna or sitting alone in a luxury sports car.

Even though Harris, 32, has made it clear that he’s not dating Rihanna, he may find himself back in the arms of his famous ex-girlfriend, and Rihanna’s doppelganger, Rita Ora. The couple split in June 2014, which resulted in a nasty breakup. But an insider told Look magazine that Ora, 26, still has feelings for the chart-topping artist.
“Rita has never stopped loving Calvin and felt he was hasty splitting up with her and was always swayed by gossip rather than facts. She thinks he only dated Taylor Swift because he was on the rebound from her and wants to remind him of everything they had together…”
The insider may have gotten his or her facts wrong because Harris briefly dated Aarika Wolf before hooking up with Swift. The timing of his relationship with the model overlapped with the news of his budding relationship with the pop star. Wolf and Harris reportedly called it quits after just six months of dating in March. Shortly after, he was seen walking around and holding hands with Swift in Nashville. Then, it was reported that the pair met at the 2015 Elle Style Awards back in February, and again at the 2015 Brit Music Awards.
“Rita knew things were going downhill for Calvin and Taylor. She wasn’t surprised when they broke up. She knows the fame game winds him up and that he must have found that life difficult.”
It was assumed that Justin Bieber was to blame for Ora and Harris’ split. Sources told TMZ that Ora and Bieber looked rather cozy together in the recording studio, which supposedly made Harris’ blood boil. Ora has been recently spotted with the Biebs earlier this month in West Hollywood where they were seen dining and clubbing. Hopefully, she’s not playing with both of these guys’ hearts once again.
The “Poison” singer addressed her split in Marie Claire’s July 2015 issue. She revealed that while their split was amicable, it still hurt her deeply.
“There was a reason why I split up with him. And there was a reason why I’m at this point in my life where I feel like I have so much musical freedom, and I don’t have to explain myself to anybody… It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong.”
But things took a dark turn and Calvin banned Rita from performing her song “I Will Never Let You Down” at the Teen Choice Awards. Calvin even seemed cool about their breakup. He took to Twitter to write, “To address speculation—myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best.”
“The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect,” Harris previously wrote.
Calvin and Taylor’s breakup could get just as messy. It’s likely that both of them will address what went really went wrong via song.
