Prince Harry On His Right To Privacy

Prince Harry, the younger brother of Prince William and son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, is worried about intrusions to his private life. According to the BBC, Prince Harry finds that the line between his public life and private life are almost non-existent at this point.

When he spoke to the BBC in an interview to mark the opening in Florida of the Invictus Games, a tournament held for wounded military personnel and veterans, Prince Harry revealed that his private life and public life were almost the same. He believes that everyone has the right to a private life, but he notices that he, and the rest of his family, don’t seem to be given the luxury of keeping private moments private anymore. Harry, along with the rest of the Royal Family, are completely aware of the privileged position they are in.

Prince Harry spoke strongly on how he wishes to fight for his privacy.

“I will spend the rest of my life earning that privilege and trying to bring a spotlight on to things and causes that really matter to me, and hopefully matter to other people as well. Everyone has a right to their privacy, and a lot of the members of the public get it, but sadly in some areas, there is this incessant need to find out every little bit of detail about what goes on behind the scenes. It’s unnecessary.”

In any event, fans shouldn’t worry about Prince Harry’s private life, as Yahoo! reports that the young royal has an excellent source of advice and encouragement: his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. According to the article, Prince Harry confides in his sister-in-law and respects her opinion, mainly because she was not born into the royal family but has managed to integrate herself beautifully into the role.

The two serious relationships that Prince Harry has had in the past – Chelsea Davey, who he dated for five years, as well as Cressida Bonas – have both been introduced to the duchess.

Prince Harry has previously commented that he was excited to have “a big sister” when his brother married Catherine, and the article went on to say that the pair “giggle about silly things together, and he is very gentle with her.”

Harry went on to describe the Invictus Games, saying that they were for the benefit of the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for their countries. Harry sees that the men and women are not alone when they commit to the sacrifices they make, but that their families are in the equation too. The scenario of having a young child see their parent go through the door to serve their country, and having that same child lay awake at night wondering whether they will ever see their parent again, deserves all the respect that the Invictus Games aim to provide.

Prince Harry spoke of the sacrifice of the veterans all across the world.

“No matter what nation they’re from… it’s not just the individuals, it’s their families as well who give so much to service, not knowing when they’re going to be sent away, not knowing how they’re going to come back, and not knowing who they’re going to serve with. And whether they believe in the cause or not, you sign up, that’s your job.”

According to Us Magazine, Prince Harry joined Michelle Obama and Morgan Freeman during the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games on Sunday, May 8, as the games were scheduled to run until Thursday, May 12.

With all the public service work that Prince Harry does, meeting people would not be a tough task for him, and yet the Prince still has one big worry in his mind.

According to People, Prince Harry finds it very hard to meet the right people socially, and he rarely finds time to go down to a pub without getting hounded by bystanders and paparazzi for photos.

He did say that if and when he finds a girlfriend, he will make sure that she and he get to the point where they get very comfortable with each other before the massive invasion of privacy happens to both of them.

Prince Harry spoke about his priorities in life.

“There is very little private life. I’m not putting work before the idea of a family, marriage and all that kind of stuff. To be fair, I haven’t had that many opportunities to get out there and meet people. At the moment, my focus is very much on work. But if someone slips into my life then that’s absolutely fantastic.”
