Taylor Swift And Calvin Harris Split ‘Far From Mutual’? She Reportedly Wanted To Get Married

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ breakup may not have been as civil as they’ve led on.

Although Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris appeared to confirm they were on good terms post-split by releasing a statement on Twitter, which was penned by Harris and re-tweeted by Swift, a couple of sources claim there may be much more to their story.

“A few weeks ago she was talking about marrying him,” a source revealed to Entertainment Tonight on June 6.

The source also added that the couple’s split was “far from mutual,” according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris began dating in February 2015 after being introduced to one another by Ellie Goulding at the Brit Awards in London, England. Then, after sharing a few of their special moments on social media, they called it quits after 15 months of dating.

Throughout their relationship, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris kept the majority of their relationship to themselves, but during a tropical vacation, they treated fans to a number of photos, and even a video clip of Taylor Swift jumping on a trampoline in the ocean. However, as sweet as they seemed, they didn’t last, and in addition to Entertainment Tonight‘s report, a second report also claimed Taylor Swift may have thought much more of the romance than her former partner.

“[Taylor Swift] used to talk about their future a lot — marriage, babies. And although he wants all of that, it just felt a bit like she was all full-steam ahead, whereas he is more of a slow and steady, let things progress organically, kind of guy,” an insider told Us Weekly on June 3. “It’s a shame because Taylor is a lovely girl, but it just obviously wasn’t meant to be.”

Following Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ split, Harris posted a message on Twitter, which read, “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.”

Because Taylor Swift quickly re-tweeted the message to her own fans and followers, they were believed to be on the same page in regard to the split — at least at the time. Now, it’s hard to say for sure what happened between them, but according to Us Weekly, it was Harris who officially pulled the plug on their romance.

“It was simply a case of not being right for each other. They grew apart quite quickly, and although he tried to give her what she wanted, he felt like they’re just in different places,” the magazine’s source explained. “There’s no one else involved.”

“It just wasn’t working anymore,” a second source told the outlet. “She’s OK.”

As fans of Taylor Swift well know, she hasn’t had the best luck in love. In fact, Harris is believed to be her longest adult relationship to date at just 15 months.

Prior to her relationship with Harris, Taylor Swift reportedly enjoyed brief relationships with several famous men, including the likes of Harry Styles, Conor Kennedy, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Eddie Redmayne, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, and Joe Jonas.

Meanwhile, Harris was involved in a one-year romance with singer Rita Ora from 2013 to 2014 and has also been linked to Ellie Goulding and model Anne Vyalitsyna.

Aside from Taylor Swift and Harris’ Twitter message to fans, they have not addressed the ongoing reports regarding the reason behind the end of their relationship.
